PreSonus CDL12P Constant Directivity Loudspeaker

So I bought the speakers because I needed something for large amounts of people I’d say around 500 I bought two stacks of these so one and one and I could probably do about 300 without clipping them out so if you’re doing about 500 or 1000 people you need two of these so that’s two and two so that’s four total with only two they have extreme long thorough so if you need that long throw but you don’t have a lot of people or 300 or less these would work great but if you go over 300 and still need a long throw I would get four instead of two as far as bass there’s not really a lot of bass in the speakers but he will never get a lot of bass in a line array . I would suggest buying a 18 inch Yorkville subwoofer or a JBL PRx subwoofer if you want the best bang for your buck you can do a crossbreed of the JBL PRx three-way cabinet speakers and two of these that would probably do about 1000 people and you don’t have to buy two more subs because the three ways already have the low end hope this helps

If you're a weekend warrior band or semi pro, these are a game changer for sound quality! Put these on top of some good subs (I'm using Mackies) and be amazed. Note to your sound guy: for absolute best clarity and power, run an aux return to your subs and run your left and right main outputs to the PreSonus. Holy, Cow!! One of THE best investments for my band!!!

these were fantastic array speakers, threw the sound more than 200ft without lose of volume, but after less than 2 months they are dropping the highs, just cutting out, will not be buying any more pre sonus equipment, very disappointed.

These are the pro audio world's best kept secret. Where do I start... The sound quality at low/mid volume just blows me away, it fills the room with a clean, audiophile quality sound. When you get close to max volume, these speakers still keep their composure, they are "creamy" not "screamy". What surprised me is how far these boxes throw! At the back of a large room, 70ft away, they are still clean, full and articulate. The vocal response on these are outstanding, probably the best I've heard! OK, so let's be realistic, what's the weaknesses? Well, there are very few. The only real weakness I can find is the box isn't very bass heavy, they are best paired with a subwoofer. The only other complaint someone may find is that these boxes don't seem to be extremely loud. I can tell you, that when you stand in front of these cabinets at full volume, you won't feel like there's an ice pick in your ear drum, however, the 12p boxes are "sneaky loud". These not only fill the dance floor, but the entire room at the same time! I give these a 10 out of 10! Update: have been using these since October, 2021. I do 3 to 5 gigs a week. I have not had any failure of any of the drivers or Amp plates as of May 2024. I have 6 of these cabs total. I generally use a single cabinet full range in bars for DJ/karaoke, If I'm DJing a larger room with 150, I run a single cdl12p with high pass filter engaged, and add a subwoofer. I have done outdoor events of over 3000 people with all 6. Theae speakers continue to amaze me and every DJ and sound engineer I have demonstrated them to. They deserve a solid 5 star review.

Purchased 6 of these for my live sound compan. Best thing I ever did . These speakers work great . Love it’s spread and natural. I compared these to Qsc, JBL, EV, and the Mackie arrays . These blow them out of the water . They state that there 1,000 watts but there 1,000 programmed but 2,000 watt peek which Is stated on the web page of presonus.

The output volume is very low and clips easily. The speaker weight to output volume ratio makes this speaker not worth it. A cheap JBL Eon is far better.

I’ve been using 4 at many shows. Added another 2 for 6 total on bigger shows and they are fantastic. The vocals are so present through these. I have EVs and QSCs and when I did a side by side comparison, there was no question how much better these are vs. single HF drivers are vs. the 8 in each one of these. Now I do notice a bit of a plastic sound when listening carefully especially when comparing them to my wood box speakers, however the vocals and everything else is so much better you don’t really notice it at all. I like the 120° pattern and they fill an event very well. I had some QSC KLAs and they may have thrown the sound out there a little further, and if I could afford 8-10 of them I’d probably get them. But for the price of these CDLs they are absolutely worth it.
