It does not work it stays on full all the time I installed it on a boat and thought I got great gas mileage 😁 but nope I pulled the sending unit back out and only had a 1/4 of a tank....but what do expect from Chinese made junk.....just pay extra for a quality product this on is straight out garbage

This is the worst unit I have ever worked with. After installing the sending unit, I was simply attaching the sending wire when suddenly the bolt spun free, and the unit fell into the gas tank. After hours of fishing the unit out of the tank with a coat hanger, it was obvious that the flimsy fiber washer holding the unit and sending bolt together was not strong enough to handle even hand tight. Needless to say I had to buy another sending unit. After and uneventful installation of a new and better sending unit, I connected it to the gauge. No response from the gauge. After checking all grounds, the sending wire and power, the gauge test proved the gauge itself was not working. The whole package was a total waste of money.

I thought the product itself was fine , I do wish the top piece you bolt thru was a little thicker as not to distort but was a god piece for the price

Fit my 1963 vw classic.

I had to widen the holes on the sender in order to fit my tank. I installed on a saddle tank on a 1972 truck. Installation not too difficult. Getting the wiring correct gave me problems but that is my problem not the gauge's. I recall seeing some reviews saying they were getting a FULL reading all the time. That is a wiring problem I believe. The wiring diagram on the listing is incorrect. The one that comes with it is correct. For the price it is working great for me but I am not looking for gallon to gallon accuracy but really just an indication of when I need to add fuel.

After ordering a replacement fuel gauge and sender and it also not working I started looking at other fuel level senders. I happened to see a wiring diagram for another unit that showed the fuel level hanger being grounded as well. Much to my surprise, after adding a ground, the sender gauge started working. I think this detail needs to be added to the instructions. The tank I have this in is a standalone tank for a shop heater. This sender probably works in most cases since they are in tanks MOUNTED to the vehicle they are in. I bet most of the "failures" and returns of this are due to this aspect.
