can you pause the time?

One of my timers stopped beeping but still keeps time. how can i fix this? or can i get a replacement?

I hired someone to watch the timer and yell loudly when it went off, but interviewing for such a position was difficult, not a lot of great talent out there that can both watch the timer and shout loudly.

Thinking about setting for 2 min at a time to help my kids know how long to brush. Once the timer is up, will it default back to 2 minutes?

Once you have it set to the 2 min mark, it will automatically revert back to the 2 min setting once the countdown has occurred as long as you do not turn the unit itself off. But, if you do turn it off, it will revert back to the original zero settings. If you don't mind changing the battery occasionally, it should work just fine for your needs. All you have to do is set it and forget it as the saying goes. Just never actually turn the timer off which is exactly how I use one of mine when putting in my eye drops@
