This is an outstanding kit for someone who really wants to create something of impressively clever, artistic quality. Sure, you can use ordinary kitchen knives, although they are clumsy and imprecise and you Halloween pumpkins may look crude and primitive. Our family created beautifully executed pumpkins with this 22-piece Bifrost kit and our pumpkins looked terrific when we put them in front of our home, remarkably superior to any we have carved during our many decades! The pumpkins even looked good in daylight, even before darkness. And when the candles illuminated them in the dark, then they looked awesome! The tools are sharp, sturdy and feel good to use. They are of great variety and allow the pumpkin carver to create precision cuts, large or small, with outstanding results. We achieved sharp pumpkin details, easily making difficult circular and curving cuts. If I were a museum carver of Halloween pumpkins, or competing in a contest, this kit would serve me very well! The tools come in a handy zippered fabric case and have elastic holders to keep them in place. When we washed the tools, no problems. They are well plated and did not rust. A few notes for the carver:1. The paper templates are varied and scary to cute. You tape them on the pumpkin and use the awl tool to punch tiny holes through the paper into the pumpkin to guide you exactly where to cut. I then traced lines along the holes with a black felt tip to guide my carving. ("connect the dots.") You can find an endless variety of templates on the internet.2. Likewise for instructions. The kit does not include printed instructions, but again, the internet is full of instructions for precise, artistic carving, which knife or small "keyhole" saw to choose for which cuts, and how to use knives for best effect.3. We were delighted, and got many compliments from our neighbors, who mostly had crudely carved pumpkins created with kitchen knives. Not us! We were thrilled, and unquestionably carved the best, most artistic and most appealing Halloween pumpkins of our lives!

I received the carving set so fast. The kit come with a very cute nice bag which can hold all the carving tools nicely. The quality of the kit is sharp, good and sturdy which make the carving easy. My kids love it and I also used it to carved other melons too. Well worthy with the discounted price. Recommended and try it for yourself.

The tools were easy to hold and handle and very sturdy. However, I didn’t know what all of the tools were. I was able to figure out four of them on my own, but needed to go online to figure out the rest and I still couldn’t figure out all of them because not all of them were listed online.For the price I paid, you’d think it would have included basic instructions.I did appreciate the stencils that were included.

I love this pumpkin carving kit! It comes with very sturdy tools that actually makes carving a pumpkin easy and fun. There are so many tools included that are so useful. The case that the carving tools comes in is very handy for keeping all the tools stored together. Also included are several paper faces that you can use as a guideline for making different faces on your pumpkin. Great value for all that is included in your pumpkin carving tool kit.

This was a nice little kit. It has several little saw blades for cutting. The scoop worked well to get the guts out of the pumpkin. I love the tools that can b used to shave skin off for making images on the pumpkins.

This product served us well this year! Great value for the price. We used it three different times during this pumpkin carving season. It is very sturdy and easy to use. The packaging that it comes in is very nice to store it for years to come!Also, the seller is always so helpful with anything as well!
