The Nutcracker and the Mouse King

This is the first time I’ve had an opportunity to read the original Nutcracker story. As with all children’s authors from the time, this story has some really dark areas so adults might want to read it themselves first so they can edit it when reading to their children or grandchildren. It was an interesting experience and provided insight into what is actually going on in the Nutcracker. Overall, worth the read.

My 8 year old granddaughter is in the Nutcracker and I was looking for a book that told the story . Illustrations are really nice too
