Musk Grass-Fed Tallow Balm | All-Purpose Salve 2 oz

This is a lovely product and brand. I’ve been using this mostly on my face, neck, chest and hands. My skin feels so soft and hydrated when I apply it. I’m 39 with combo/acne prone skin. I have had had no adverse reactions to this, my skin loves it. It does seem to help lessen breakouts a bit, and very healing to the skin. My one complaint is the scent. It smells very much like the ingredients, a strong fish oil smell is present along with the mixture of herbal oils. But it doesn’t last long, I usually spray a bit of perfume on my chest or apply some other lotion on my body quickly after I apply this to my face and that helps counter the fish oil smell. I’m curious about there other blends that don’t use the fish oil but I was a bit worried about applying olive oil on my face being so acne prone. I also recommend scooping out a bit into your palm and mixing it with your finger, it becomes whipped and very easy to spread onto the skin. Overall I recommend, it’s a very nice product, that your skin will love! I’m definitely going to repurchase and try other scents too!

This is an excellent product that truly supports healthy skin. My family has been purchasing and using this regularly, and it has become a dependable staple in our routine. A very small amount goes a long way. It absorbs nicely into the skin and leaves the face feeling soft, nourished, and comfortable without any greasy residue or shiny finish. It keeps the skin balanced and healthy-looking rather than heavy or oily. I especially appreciate how clean and simple it feels on the skin—effective without being overwhelming. This works well for daily use and for a variety of skin needs. Overall, it’s a high-quality product that delivers consistent results and is well worth keeping on hand.

5.0 out of 5 stars – Silky Smooth Perfection with a Personal Touch!I can’t say enough good things about Hearth & Homestead’s whipped tallow balm in the vanilla orange scent—it’s absolutely fantastic! The fragrance is a delightful blend that lifts my mood every time I use it. This balm keeps my face, lips, and every other part of my body silky smooth, and I’ve been reaching for it daily. I’ve tried other brands in the past, but when Hearth & Homestead says “whipped,” they mean it! The texture is light, creamy, and luxurious—never rock-hard or chunky like some of the bigger manufacturers I’ve sampled. Plus, my 1.3 oz jar arrived filled to the brim, just as advertised—no half-empty disappointments here.I’ll admit, the delivery date was pushed back initially, which might bother some people. But I saw it as a sign they were swamped with orders—clearly, I’m not the only one who loves this stuff! And here’s the kicker: it still arrived before the updated date Amazon provided. This was my second order, and I couldn’t be happier with the consistency and quality. What sets Hearth & Homestead apart, though, isn’t just the product—it’s the heart they put into it. In my last order, I received an unexpected handwritten note from Lily & Josh, thanking me for my support. Who even does that anymore? That personal touch sealed the deal for me. They’ve checked every box that matters: quality, reliability, and genuine care for their customers. I’m sticking with Hearth & Homestead for good. Lily & Josh, you’ve got my full-fledged support—keep up the amazing work!

Smell: A+. The most neutral smelling tallow product I've purchased. Almost 0 smell. Texture: Just okay. I'm not sure if it was subjected to extreme heat or cold during shipping, but the texture was very gritty. Even with melting the tallow between my hands, using pressure and rubbing, it was hard to get the grit to melt. Finish: True pure tallow, this doesn't leave you looking greasy, it almost has a matte finish PREVENTING SCARS: I cut off the very tip of my thumb. After initially using neosporin until the wound closed, I applied this tallow balm liberally to the area and kept it mostly covered in tallow for 1 month. My scar is almost completely nonexistant. My thumb nail has never been so strong and long. This stuff has magic powers.

I have given this 1-1/2 months before I did a review. I completely dropped all the steroid creams and OTC lotions and switched to tallow for controlling my eczema. While I will not say I don’t have eczema any more, I can say it has given me more control over my eczema than ANY prescription or OTC I have used. I’m now down to “light pink” without flaking or itching! It’s a HUGE improvement for me and I couldn’t be happier!

As a guy with working hands that tend to crack and bleed during the winter months, I have tried numerous hand creams and lotions, but none have worked as effectively as the Beef Tallow All Purpose Balm by Vintage Tradition. This product is a game-changer for anyone who needs a reliable solution to dry, cracked skin. What sets this balm apart is its unique combination of nourishing ingredients. Made with grass-fed tallow, essential oils, olive oil, and peppermint oil, it is designed to provide maximum hydration and healing benefits for your skin. The peppermint oil gives it a refreshing scent that is both invigorating and soothing. Another great thing about this balm is its versatility. It can be used as a body lotion, hand cream, or even a lip balm. I carry the peppermint lip balm religiously, and got my wife hooked as well, who couldn’t tolerate the smell of tallow before. The essential oils give it a great scent to mask the scent of the tallow. I have used it on my hands, feet, and elbows with excellent results. It is also great for soothing minor cuts and scrapes. One of the best things about this balm is that it is made from all-natural ingredients. There are no synthetic chemicals or artificial fragrances, making it a safe and healthy, no BS option for anyone looking for a natural skincare solution. Overall, I highly recommend the Beef Tallow All Purpose Balm by Vintage Tradition to anyone looking for an effective and versatile skincare product. It is a must-have for anyone who needs to keep their skin healthy and hydrated, especially during the harsh winter months. Give it a try, and you won't be disappointed!

Bought for my husband who works in trades and constantly has rough hands. He loved the beef tallow texture. Really made a difference is softness without being overly greasy. The packaging was good. The amount was worth the price. Only downfall is the scent manly was slightly strong for my liking. Would go scent less next time.

I was quite skeptical, but wow this stuff is great, I'm sold for life. I liked the explanations they give on their website about how they source, sort, clean, do their own rendering, etc. They even list the farms they buy from! And quite apart from all that, the salve makes my hands feel the way I WANT my hands to feel after moisturizing. Just like my hands used to be before covid, when I started washing my hands way more often. When that died off a little, I moved into a house where there are a lot of really adorable and clean animals, but still... I end up washing my hands all the time, since I don't want to be rubbing my eyes with animal dander and hair etc. The handwashing all the time continues, and I'm SO glad to have this stuff. One container lasts forEVer, I haven't even gone through half of my pot yet, (2oz) and it's been months and months. After just a couple minutes, it sinks into the skin and is not noticeable any more, no persistent greasy feeling unless you overdo it like a LOT. If I do that accidentally, buffing with a dry or moist hand towel takes care of it, and the overall feeling is really nice. I adore peppermint, and while this is not intensely minty, I think the mint must do a great job covering any tallow smell, because I've only ever caught the faintest whiff of that (while overdoing it, mostly). I cannot speak to the other scents/unscented, but I doubt they smell worse, really. This has saved my dry cracky hands, and also helped with some dry skin issues on my face and elbows. Cannot recommend it enough! The texture may be a little grainy, depending on what the storage/shipping conditions were like, mine is SUPER grainy, but I don't give a &@#, because that doesn't matter at all. Works amazing anyway. Once it melts onto your skin, it's heaven.

I love this product so much! I’ve been hesitant to try tallow balm for my eczema for years now just because of the price, but once nothing was working for my 18 month old son, I decided we’d give it a go. It improved patches that he’d had for over month after 2 uses, and they were completely gone in a week. My own stubborn patches are instantly soothed, no itch or irritation, and it doesn’t sting when you apply it like all other eczema products do for me, I love it. You need so little when you apply this jar will last forever, even with both of our outbreaks, AND the jar is a reusable glass jar??? I really wonder is this product could get better. I’m so happy we’ve found something that works so well for both of us! No more eczema-creams-that-never-worked graveyard. One product that does it all!

First time buyer Smells great , not a heavy or greasy feel One can feel the softnesss after the first try Should last a good time and you don’t need a lot to apply

This product give your skin silky appearance, natural product, gives you natural look. Doesn't last long though, it will be better if its in a tube

My son suffers from terrible rashes on his legs that are dry, patchy and burn/irritated him. Since using this he is much more at ease and his legs no longer hurt, the marks are also fading! His skin also looks much more smooth. Works amazing and worth the price as a little goes a long way!

I thought it is fake but after using for some days I have realised that it is true and I am extremely satisfied with the way I look after using this product. Looks younger than before
