Excellent Knife
This is a very sharp slicing knife. It is heavy and has good balance, but it is a little heavy for me.

Cuts bread well
Cuts bread well. Could be an inch or two longer, but good enough. Rather heavy, but that can be helpful with a thick crust. The offset blade is comfortable to use. The rounded sharp "teeth" work well and could (maybe?) be sharpened if it dulls with use; while the normal serrated (little concave sharpened areas) knives can't.

Not as I expected
The blade didn't have sharp points to "grip" the item such as a tomato. Instead the "points" were rounded so it slips slightly. Also, the "scalloped edge" was not concave as I experienced w another brand. Possibly because of the above or user error, the blade seems to slip/cut to my right rather than straight down. FWIW, when holding the knife, the scalloped edge is to the left and the other (totally flat) side of the blade is to my right. The knife is beautiful w a lovely handle totally unique and different from your basic black. It's a full tang and hefty. Possibly a little too hefty, or at least that's the initial impression when holding it the first time. I suppose that's good to cut through things. Nice packaging and nested nicely in dense foam (?). Sadly, it is being returned as it would have been a nice addition.

Fabulous!!
I am absolutely in love with this knife. I would not say that it is lightweight, and that’s a good thing. That was one of the factors that helped in my decision making process for buying it. I wanted a very high quality knife (my opinion, I am not a professional chef), with a very comfortable weight, not too heavy, not light and flimsy. The blade is SHARP and cuts like butter. Are there higher end knives out there? Yes, but, these are not cheap by any means. It’s the most expensive knife I have ever bought. I felt I deserved it because I love to cook and I do it all the time. We like to do our amateur gourmet foods, I am in my 60’s and I felt I deserved it and I only have one regret. Why didn’t I do this a LONG time ago?

NOT SHARP AT ALL .... SHOCKED!
I'm shocked. This knife looks and feels great. It has a good weight to it. It's really a beautiful knife. I'm really shocked though because it is NOT SHARP AT ALL ... and I mean at all. I can run my finger up and down the blade and not even get a paper cut. It tears rather than cuts. So disappointed and would not recommend it for that reason. Maybe I got a dud, and maybe I could have it sharpened. I don't know.I have both a 7-inch and 9-inch "Lamson Fire Forged Offset Bread Knife Serrated Edge" that I love and that is so very sharp. I purchased both of them on Amazon. I would recommend the Lamson brand over this knife!
