It's smooth, not overly sweet, and has that clean dairy flavor without any of the lactose-related regrets afterward. For those of us who are lactose sensitive, that last part is a bigger deal than it sounds. The nutrition profile is where things get really interesting. 20g of protein, only 1g of sugar, and a calorie count that fits neatly into a fitness-forward lifestyle. It's the kind of label you'd expect on a clinical supplement, not something that actually tastes this good. I've been reaching for one of these post-gym instead of mixing a powder shake, and I genuinely don't miss the shaker bottle. The can format is a nice touch too — feels more premium than a plastic bottle, chills quickly in the fridge, and is easy to toss in a gym bag. It also travels better than you'd expect. If there's one caveat, it's that the chocolate flavor, while great, is on the lighter side — this isn't a thick, decadent shake. Think refreshing over indulgent. Personally, I prefer it that way, but if you're expecting something closer to a milkshake, temper expectations slightly. Overall, Slate has done something genuinely difficult: made a healthy product that you actually look forward to drinking.

I really like this protein shake because it isn't full of unhealthy additives. It is worth the price for sure.

These are really good they taste great but dang they’re expensive. I guess you could compare them to a cup of Starbucks coffee. I like mine with ice chips and they are so good they’re packed with. A lot of protein and they get you through the morning. They’re very good. The consistency in each can is the same. They’re very good they’re delicious. Actually they’re just very expensive you get 12 I think for 35 bucks so I think they’re a little overpriced.

UPDATE: After I posted my review I was contacted by the company and asked if I’d like a full refund. I said yes that would be great. I received a email saying a refund is being processed to my credit card. I really appreciate them doing that because they didn’t have to. Even though their product didn’t work for me I totally respect the company and appreciate their great customer service. I would rate their company and their customer service 5+ stars. Let’s start with the things I like about this protein drink. I like the protein content in the drink and that it doesn’t have a lot of toxic ingredients in it like others do. I like the fact that the sugar content is low also. Now the things I don’t like about it is the taste. I noticed it had Stevia in it, but I also noticed it had monk fruit sweetener in it which I like, I’m not crazy about Stevia, but I thought I would try this anyways and I think it tastes horrible. I could taste the Stevia aftertaste and honestly it’s not very chocolatey compared to the other chocolate protein shakes I’ve had before. I really wanted to like it because it was pretty expensive for my taste, but I just don’t like it.
