Clarity Amplified Telephone Ringer With Visual Indicator (SR200)

This is amazingly effective--I can be anywhere on our property and hear the ring clearly. While our property is only 2 acres (a postage stamp in Texas) it is wooded in places and with several out buildings it could be extremely difficult to hear our phones when they rang. I had tried several "newer technology" versions of ringers they just were not effective - this Ameriphone Phone Ringer has a clearly discernible ring that is clearly heard where ever we are--now if I could just get my 62 year old legs to move quick enough to reach the phone! bogie

Works fine but not real loud

Claimed to be so loud that it could be heard over any noise. Barely able to hear over the sound of automotive air tools. Works great if you were in a relatively quieter environment. But not all.

My friend is 88 years old, and does well in life except for his hearing. He made it very clear that IF he did not like this ringer. He wanted to be able to use an RMA, and send it back. He also wanted to make sure it was a ringer that had a power adaptor. Many of his family and relatives call the house, and he does not hear the phone ring. He rarely leaves the house. I delivered it yesterday, and setup the phone ringer in minutes. He was PLEASANTLY surprised at the sound of the loud ring. He could hear this WITHOUT his hearing aid. He also LOVED the different ring patterns, and the ability the change the ring tones. He quickly told me this is NOT going back. The LED light on the top of the unit is good, but only OK if you are right next to it. It is not a strobe light, and just a novelty.

I am a huge fan of Clarity products but i prefer the sr-100. To me it sounds louder and is self powered through the phone line. The light indicator is not to noticeable but this product still works. It does have a battery slot but i did not want to deal with switching out batteries so i opted for the wall connection.

i don't normally write reviews but i am writing this review to let all those looking for loud telephone ringer for their elderly parent, look no more this is it. My father with hearing aid is still hard of hearing. Over the past 10 years my nagging elderly father have gone thru many telephones and ringing devices claiming loud ringers with not much luck. My father is now 90 and i finally stumble onto Clarity ringer, installed it and i couldn't believe he heard it no problem! i put him in another room and he again heard it. Im just Amaze! The price is a bit steep but still worth every penny getting your elderly parent off your back LOL now only if i can get him to hear me on the phone that would be great. THIS IS ONE TO BUY!

Buyer Beware! This product DOES NOT work on VOIP, i.e. Comcast, Time Warner, Magic Jack Plus, Vonage, etc. The description of this product does NOT tell you this. We bought it to give to an elderly lady friend that is deaf and lives alone. It worked for about a week and a half, then it started randomly ringing or the siren on it would go off in the middle of the night and different times of the day. It scared the old lady (84) half to death, and she got her son to come over in the middle of the night thinking someone was breaking into her house or something. Upon calling Ameriphone/Clarity about it, we were told that it might work for a short time, then it WILL NOT work on VOIP and will do weird things, and since it is not defective, they would not give a refund. I feel strongly that if this company does not put that bit of information in the description of it before people spend their money buying it, then they are at fault and should stand behind it. It is NOT in the description, and they flat out said they won't give refunds because it is not defective. This is not a company that we will deal with again. Again BUYER BEWARE.......

This ringer came to me in a taped shut package which indicated to me that it was not new. Since I had it I cut the tape and opened it. 1st I noticed there was no instructions. I bought it for my father so I took it to his house connected the "line" to the jack and connected the electricity. I called his number, the ringer did not work. It made no sound and the light did not flash in any switch position. I switched the telephone line connection to "phone" still nothing. I took it to my house and tried it there with the same results. I think these are either crap or I got one someone else had returned for the same reason. I have a replacement coming, and will update my review after that.Received 2nd one today. This one was packaged in a box instead of soft package. The unit was not taped shut and it did include instructions, and best of all it DID work. Now my Dad can here his phone ring again.
