Sick of hand gathering? I was. This ruffler is one of my favourite toys in my sewing kit! Easy to install and works a treat - you choose how full you’d like your product to look with options to choose on which stitch you’d like to ruffle (every other, every five…etc)

It’s a little hard to put on but what I’m saving in ruffling my own lace, it’s well worth the effort. It came with complete instructions so I was ruffling I no time. It’s very easy to use. If it broke for some reason I would not hesitate getting another. It also ruffles in varied tightness. The black was at a looser setting than the lace. You choose. A 5***** gadget!

I sew my own clothes and these days everything has gathered fabric and this cheap little foot gathers, ruffles, and does small pleats perfectly--I will never baste and gather by hand again! It does a better job than a standard shirring foot or the gathering settings on my serger. It does take some time to figure out how to attach it to the machine and to play around with the various settings to get the right sized ruffle. I spent about an hour sewing a few inches on each setting, then writing down how much the length had shrunk so now I can figure what settings to use for a given project without trial and error.The only problem with this foot is it is a pain to put on and take off the machine and I found that sometimes I wouldn't bother. Finally, I pulled out a retired sewing machine and converted it to a ruffling machine, which just means it has this foot on it permanently. It's been an amazing addition to my sewing room and I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner.

The media could not be loaded. A bit clunky and as others have said, noisy BUT it did exactly as I wanted it to. Watch your needle placement to avoid breakage and maybe a YouTube video on how to feed the material.
