Update from 2 switches, 3 years of service, under cabinet and hall closet LED light strips
I rarely write reviews. But this motion detecting unit solved a vexing problem for me: how to switch on LED light strips in a hall closet and under a set of kitchen cabinets. I knew I didn't want to wire in a new electrical box with a proper toggle switch in either location. I first tried two types of touch sensitive switches. The kind you tap to turn on. Those were awful, they simply didn't work consistently or even at all sometimes. One isn't available any longer, the other was the LEDENET iTouch LED Dimmer Controller. Don't get that.I have found the Sensky motion sensor to be perfect in both applications. The hall closet switch is mounted to the bottom of a head-height shelf on he front edge, pointing straight down. It's ~12" from the door, but the light turns on every time when you open the door and step into the doorway or reach for a coat. It also turns off automatically in ~3-5 minutes. The under-cabinet switch is mounted to the bottom of a cabinet, pointing down. It is mounted mid way between the front and back of the cabinet. I put it above my coffee maker so I know where it is. I have to wave my hand under the switch to get it to turn on, which is fine. But I never get any false alarms where the motion sensor picks up someone walking through the kitchen.

A pain to adjust sensitivity and time delay (if that works at all) and not returnable
I am working on a project to light the pantry closet. I purchased this item to have it to turn on the light when I slide the door open and to turn off after some period of time (or right after) after I close it. Below are some issues that I came across and that caused me to give it 1-star rating. If someone can get back to me and provide some clear instructions I would appreciate it and that might change my feedback.1. I am having trouble adjusting the sensitivity and delay. No matter what I do it either keeps flickering randomly or always on or always off. No matter if there is anyone in the view of the sensor or if I put it inside the box and leave it for some time. I tried putting it in the closet to simulate actual environment with no luck as well. Allowed it plenty of time (30+ minutes) to "warm up" as some people suggested. Also its not clear whether this warm up period is needed after each power reset or once I turn it on for the first time?2. Instructions and troubleshooting suggestions were very vague and offered little help. Some in addition do not really make sense with some spelling mistakes (see attached photos). Like, If sensor does not shut off automatically check if the delay time is set to longest? I would assume it's gotta be the shortest not longest...3. Also, troubleshooting instructions mention that if sensitivity is poor (without clarifying what that really means) it maybe because of too high ambient temperature, close to one emitted by human body. But nowhere it says what exact or even approximate operating or recommended temperature is. Its summer and temperature can easily hit 85F or above indoors. Is that normal operating temp? Can I expect it to work reliably with that environment?4. To top it off the product was not returnable, even for prime members.

Excellent addition to our kitchen
To provide more lighting in our kitchen, we installed LED strip lights around the bottom of our upper cabinets. By adding this sensor, the lights come on as soon as we enter the kitchen. They turn off a few minutes after we leave the kitchen.A handy and affordable way to enter the kitchen safely!

Depends on power supply amperage!
I bought one for motion detection of amazon LED 2835 strip lights and it worked fine with an amazon 12v 1a plug. It turned on and off as expected with motion and could alter time delay. Ordered 3 more motion PIR and the same LED strips from amazon and plugged them into a 12v 2a amazon plug. Didn't work! It would flash on and off on the shortest setting and when adjusted to come on, it would never turn off just as reported by other users. I also tried an amazon 12v 3a plug. Same problem. Then reordered Amazon 12v 1a plug. Surprised it worked fine! So it seems that the motion PIR works with a 1a power supply but not 2a or 3a in my install. So finicky.
