Simple, no mess, healthy seedlings
Found these to be genuinely brilliant. We live in a flat but have an allotment. Easier to carry this small light box up the stairs than a whole bag of compost. Soaked the discs in warm water and they swell up in minutes. They have a hole in the middle ready for a seed. Seeds have grown very well and young seedlings / plants look really healthy. Potting on is then easy too as you can just move the whole thing to a pot of compost rather than trying to handle a fragile seedling. Found there to be minimal mess (again great when you’re in a flat). They hold their shape long enough for plants to develop (roots can work their way out of the casing) but then eventually dissolve away when planted. Probably more expensive than just using compost but worth it for the convenience and quality of plant growth. Highly recommend!

Fabulous
I bought these to grow Nigela seeds this summer and as an experiment I also grew some in tiny compostable pots with the appropriate starter compost for seeds. No competition - these plugs produced plants that were five times the size and once established were ready to plant up.

Easy to sow but not all seeds grow well
Easy to operate the pods. Package was good and safe but half if not more of the pods were empty with seeds not growing in them

Bit disappointing
Tried these as they looked ideal for storing and easy to use which they are. However, once watered, they do expand well, and retain the moisture well. Unfortunately quite a lot of my seeds did not grow in them. I ended up throwing them in the garden and using potting compost instead. Not a complete waste of money, worth trying and seeing what grows well in them.

Excellent
These are great, I saw monty Don use these on gardeners world and they worked so well so I had to try them. I've always struggled with growing zinnias from seed so I used these this time and they grew so big and healthy. Would definitely recommend these.
