It washes away well under the tap however, I did notice it left a sticky residue when it dried but after putting it in the washing machine it did go away. I wouldn't buy this if you aren’t able to put it in the washing machine. My only major complaint is that it’s quite thin and it’s not stiff so could only be used as a guide for embroidery rather than stabiliser but that was okay for what I needed it for.
