Lets be honest here - its a screen protector, not some fancy forcefield out of Star Trek. It will not prevent your screen from smashing if it experiences a large enough impact - and it doesn't claim to. People expecting this are unreasonable. It will, however, prevent the original screen from getting scratched from day to day use. It may prevent a crack via sacrificial absorbing a force - but only within a certain limit. And it hard enough glass that after two months use, it's still scratch free.
