Our drainfield was so dead we burned through a septic pump twice- it just never shut off trying to push water out there. We were constantly having backups into our basement. We had the lateral lines cleared of tree roots thinking that would help but it didn't. The second time our pump died was our wake up call that our system was broken, and the guy told us "if this doesn't work you need a new drainfield." We were looking at a $30k mound system. I read a lot about this and Roebic drainfield products and we decided we had nothing to lose. We stopped putting water down our system for about a week. Showered at the gym, used the toilet at the gas station, put buckets in the sink to wash hands and dishes and dumped it out side. While we did that, every day I dumped a packet of the Green Pig (mixed with water) and a bottle of Roebic drainfield opener down our lateral lines and prayed. I also dumped some in the tanks and down the toilet (once each). We slowly started using water again, taking short showers (turning the water off while soaping up), and using the toilet but only flushing brown. I kept adding these products, but increased the time between treatments to every other day, and then every few days. We tested the system with a load of laundry. I sat outside by our pump and heard it turn on. And then it turned back off! It worked! We slowly ramped our water usage back up to normal, and I kept going out to listen to the pump and it was working normally as it should. It's been over 6 months and everything is working great. I now treat our system on a monthly basis with a packet of this stuff and a half bottle of Roebic drainfield opener (I put it in the toilet now). A plumber I spoke to said it's all just bacteria, and you can't add too much, so I will probably continue to do so indefinitely. I don't ever want to be back in that situation of worrying about our system. That was a nightmare I'm so glad is over.

Have used this product througout the life of a new septic system. Opened the tank for the first time (in 12 years) thinking I was way overdue for a pump-out. There was no residue in the bottom of the septic tank.

Very easy to use just flush in toilet and it works miracles. Had issues with my cesspool filling offer now that I use this product I no longer have the problem. Maintain your system by using this product regularly.

Not sure how it works to be truthful

Since we have a small septic tank, I use one pod every month to keep the bacteria active. We have not had a problem in the eight years we've been living here.

Have used this for years and no problem with septic. Don't really know if this product is the reason or not, but at least no problems

I buy this and slpit it with my mom. That way we both get 2 1/2 years of Green Pig. This stuff works so well that I haven't had to have the septic system pumped out for several years! It's really easy to use and there is almost no odor. We love Green Pig and will never use anything else!!!
