Q: Will it last in the sun, most poly rope degrades due to UV from the sun?

Great question! This is 100% poly and it does great against uv rays. Anything in direct sun will degrade item. We have had great reviews using this with boats and in the garden where both are direct to the sun. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Q: How does the 1200lbs test related to real world; breaking strength? constant load? dynamic load? says "not rated for human weight" - why not?

Most human rated ropes will be rated much higher than 1200lbs, OSHA standard is around 5000lbs I believe. The rope must also meet different standards for things like stretch, temperature, and abrasive resistance that is completely separate than the ratings for a utility rope. Basically, the human rated ropes are required to be almost 10x more than needed because the loss of a life is much more devastating than cargo coming undone. Plus that direct statement avoids the ever popular lawsuit. As for The 1200lbs rating, this is most likely the optimum strength achieved under strictly laboratory conditions. Like a slow steady pull with new rope, in a straight line, on a scale. Since things like knots or angles can reduce the ropes strength, they can't accurately predict the working load on a utility rope that is designed to be used in a variety of different ways. Something like a tow strap CAN be given a accurate working load because it is designed to only be used one specific way, with no knots or bends. Hope that helps someone. This is a great rope. I keep it in the tool box of my truck permanently to compliment Ratchet Straps like a beefed up twine.
