It's not huge like a wall clock, but more bookshelf-sized. It is not quiet. The every-second click might not work for you in a quiet environment like a study. I also think that it should have some type of mounting idea - even if just a small Velcro strip or a hole in the faux winder knob to drive a screw. Since this just sits on the edge of a flat surface like a bookshelf, it is prone to being inadvertently knocked off and heading for the floor. Last, while it does keep time, the very small hands and warped face make it very difficult to read. But - the idea is that it is a conversation piece, and it's marvelous at that, for less than $15.
