If they were stainless, they would be much more expensive, right. This is not my product, but I've been in the spice business 30 years. Spices are dehydrated, they're SUPPOSED to stay dry. Manufacturing (and storing) spices means keep everything dry for food safety. They're labeled, don't wash them, just refill. It's actually safer. If you do, just dry them quickly, it's fine. **Q: What is the country of origin?** A: China **Q: Are the lids screw tops? Thats important.** A: No, they don't screw on, they're just pop on/off - but the lid forms almost like a vacuum seal, it's a very tight hold and I've never had a lid fall off! **Q: Could you tell me if the tins are made of stainless steel (on the inside). Not sure if they are made of steel or aluminum?** A: I'm almost sure that they are stainless steel because that's how they feel, they are very light weight. The same color that and material that you see from the outside they are inside. It is well worth it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful look and space-saving, a few tips for use though *by P***1 on June 5, 2022* I love having space in my cabinets and countertops again! I am able to stick them to the side of the refrigerator for easy reach while cooking. I bought this product almost 2 years ago, and I bought more today. The labels are clear and strong. You choose which labels you want on the containers. In hindsight, I wish I had placed the labels so that the opening was facing up (Picture 1). This is because I can leave a container open, read it quickly while cooking, and store it 'right side up' again, especially spices like salt and pepper (because if you're like me, you are going back and forth frequently with it). I feel I have enough spice storage in the containers. They hold about 3/4 the size of a regular jar of spice in the grocery store. I don't use large amounts of spices, so I had no problem throwing the rest away while transferring. I've yet to refill the containers. The reason I didn't give it a full 5-star review is for a couple of things. The magnet could be a little bit stronger, or larger. I've knocked a container or two off the refrigerator while just brushing upon it. Once I moved my refrigerator a little to sweep between the cracks and most of them fell off. I'm not patient enough to glue stronger magnets, so I'm just very careful around them. My second critique is the tight twist lids. I don't know if it is the spices getting caught in between the lid and container that is making it difficult to twist, or just the nature of the lids. Either way, some spices I've left open because they are too difficult to close (probably bad for the spices). I am thinking of smearing some vegetable oil inside these lids to help solve this problem. Personally, I feel these flaws are minor compared to the convenience and space I'm saving in the kitchen. I have more spices to store, and I bought another batch to hang those up as well.
