Ideal for Garmin GPS
I had previously used the OEM suction mount on the Garmin GPS and the item would not hold and often fall off, in the middle of my drive!. This product is the perfect solution for my need. My Garmin Nuvi LMT with the built in camera not hold to the windscreen, as it is meant to. I wonder, why Garmin did not think of this product and save the trouble for all of us.I have installed this on the passenger side of my Hyundai Ioniq.

Good product but needed minor modifications for my purpose
I purchased the I.Trek sticky mount to attach a Garmin dash cam to the windshield of my truck. My experience with the i.Trek mount is only with this camera. I cannot speak to the use of this mount with any other device.Shipping was quick and the mount arrived in good condition.I have two vehicles that I use the Garmin dash cam in so this is the second of two i.Trek sticky mounts that I have purchased. The adhesive on the i.Trek is very aggressive so users should plan the location of the mount carefully before removing the backing because once applied, the mount is very difficult to remove. If you find that the mount must be removed from your windshield, the sticky portion will probably be ruined. 3M double sided tape from your local auto parts store can be used to attach the mount again. The strength of the adhesive provides for a secure mount. The area where the i.Trek is to be mounted should be clean. I used 98% alcohol that I purchased from Wal-Mart to clean my windshield before applying the i.Trek. There is no alcohol pad supplied with the mount. The i.Trek is all plastic consists of the windshield mount with adhesive applied, a “gland nut” and a link with two balls - one at either end of a short shaft. One of the balls at the end of the plastic shaft is sized so that it fits precisely into the mounting socket at the top of my Garmin dash cam. Inserting the ball into the camera socket takes a bit of effort but the tightness of the fit assures that the camera will be held steady. The ball at the other end of the shaft is smaller and designed to fit into a slotted socket on the part of the mount that is attached to the windshield. The slotted socket on the windshield portion of the mount is threaded to accept the gland nut. With the gland nut loose, the slots provide for enough deflection of the windshield mount to allow the ball to be snapped in. Once the ball is inserted, the gland nut can be tightened to provide a secure attachment to the windshield.Since I use the Garmin dash camera in two vehicles, I need to remove the camera from time to time and install it in the second vehicle. I have the windshield part of the mount installed in both vehicles. In addition to switching the camera between two cars, I also remove the camera at night to reduce the temptation for people who may see the camera to want to break into my car to get it.When removing the camera, I leave the ball mount attached to the camera and remove the camera and ball linkage from the windshield portion of the mount as a unit. I do this because the gland nut provides a method of adjusting the mounting while the socket at the top of the camera does not.For my application, the insertion of the ball into the windshield portion of the mount required too much pressure. I am concerned that repeated insertions and removals will eventually cause a crack in the windshield. To remedy this problem I reduced the size of the ball that inserts into the windshield mount with a small belt sander. If you are going to attempt this modification, use your least aggressive sanding belt, remove a small amount of material and check the fit often. Lacking a belt sander, you may be able to make this modification by hand but it will take a bit longer. The smaller size allows me to insert the ball into the windshield mount with less effort and the gland nut allows me to tighten the mounting so that the camera is held steady.Over all, if a person were to leave his/her device in the car at all times, the i.Trek mount works very well. For me, the tightness of the fit into the windshield socket was an issue.

Holds tight
Holds tight to where it’s been stuck. The ball holds its position properly and hasn’t started shifting.

Solved two problems but...
I bought this for a couple of reasons. First of all, I've yet to have a suction cup mount that lasts. Eventually, they all get to the point where they fall off - and usually while I'm driving. Second, living where I do, crime is (unfortunately) always an issue. Every once in while, we'll hear about people targeting cars with the rings that are left on windshields by suction cup mounts. See the ring, figure the GPS or other device is somewhere in the car and smash a window to find out. It took me a bit of Google searching to find the solution to both problems and that's what landed me here on Amazon to buy this.I worried about the adhesive issue that a lot of the reviews here have mentioned but, figured the relatively cheap price was worth the risk. Maybe it's because I have a flat brushed aluminum area above my self-installed radio, but I've yet to see any sign of this mount losing it's grip. I've had it for about a month and, even with the past week being ungodly hot (100°F+), it still holds, even when I pull the mounting clip off the ball. Should there be any issues with regard to it holding up, I'll be sure to adjust this review. As it is, I highly recommend it.*****************Update:After about a month, I'm seeing the ball lose it's friction. I have a 5-inch Garmin 52LM on this and it's getting to the point where a moderate jolt from bumps in the road or even a tap on the screen moves the entire unit. That's especially bad since the 52LM uses an adapter that stays on the mount, so it's not a matter of constantly taking the unit on and off the ball. Taking a closer look at the plastic, it's doesn't seem as dense as the original mounts. I'm actually considering cannibalizing an original mount to somehow attach an original ball to this one. I still love the dashboard location - just wish I didn't have to play MacGyver to make it work as it should.

The little mount that could..
In deciding to purchase a Garmin Nuvi, I also researched many different mounts to try and find the perfect set-up to use in my older Ford Explorer. I didn't want to glue a disc to the top of my dash.. and in fact there aren't a lot of flat areas to use near the driver in this vehicle. The vent clip mount was spectacularly unsuccessful! Luckily, one of my purchases (as a matter of fact the most inexpensive of all) was this ChargerCity Adhesive Mount. I found the underside of a flat ridge, just below the radio, big enough to place this mount. I had already decided that I would also sink a small 3/8" metal screw into each corner of the mounting plate, just to be sure that it didn't loosen.. but the 3M adhesive that is used on this mount is some serious glue. I don't believe I would have needed to add the screws. In fact be sure it's where you want it when you peel the paper and place it. I would hate to try and wrestle this thing off, after once touching the adhesive to any surface! The nuvi clip that holds the GPS and attaches to this (or any) mount is a very tight fit. You need to use a little muscle to push it on and pull it off of the ball part of the mount. It is absolutely no problem with this spot on my dash and the solidness of this mount itself. The ChargerCity Adhesive Mount couldn't have been designed to be any more effective than it is.. and I couldn't be any happier with it than I am!
