Great product but beware...
Okay, I've read some scathing reviews stating not to buy because it doesn't fit. These were mistakes made buy the buyers and not the product. This is NOT for the Genesis Model 2 or 3. This fits the model 1 genesis, which is probably the most common genesis model. However, even if you have a model 1 genesis, check the model number. This is specifically rated for the 1601, 1602, and 1603 (it also works for a specific Jaguar model). I have two Geneses, a 1601 and a Mega Drive 2510. Although it will fit the HA2510, the output and input power is slightly different. Will it play? Yes, but you really should play with an adapter appropriately rated for your console.This is a great replacement if you've read the product description and have the appropriate hardware. But if you hastily clicked "buy now", you may be disappointed.

Clean power source for sega
Provides a clean power for the sega model 1. A lot of off brand power cords make a static interference on the screen. Fortunately this cord works great for the model 1. No scrolling static!

Works as promised with the Sega Genesis System MK-1601
Having read negative reviews of similar products, I was wary about finding a power supply for my Sega Genesis model MK-1601. This charger seemed like one of the safer bets, and I'm glad to say I was right. The supply works like a charm with my system. If you need a charger for the MK-1601, buy this one.

I have bought others.
I have bought other ac adaptors for my Genesis and this is the first one that does not produce static lines on the screen or any humming noise from the sound either, it seems like a whole new system.
