CAC China KSE-13 Kingsquare Porcelain Rectangular Platter, 11-1/2" x 6-1/4", Super White, Box of 12

I selected these because I needed rectangle plates quickly. They arrived quickly but 5 of them were broken.The plates are bright white and work well in the restaurant. Good weight but not bulky.

Great size for everyday meals, and all but the most ultra-formal entertaining. Perfect when you want to use just one plate per person, without an extra salad or bread plate. I like the smart, clean design and food presents beautifully on these. Will work well for buffets since guests can use these tray-style, placing their glass or cup on one side of the plate. As other reviewers mention, the glaze may have some very minor imperfections, visible only if critically inspected at very close range, so they may not be suited to very formal entertaining. They're certainly elegant enough for most parties, buffets and gatherings. They are, as others note, substantial and weighty, since they're intended for durability and restaurant use, but that is a plus in my opinion.

My initial impression of these plates is not a good one. I purchased them since they're large enough to be convenient to use for a buffet-style dinner. I think these might be targeted for the food-service industry rather than home use where some of the irritating points might not be noticed. There are small defects in the glaze on at least 50% of the plates. This isn't what bothers me. The most irritating part is that there is what I would describe as a "reinforcing rib" in the center of the bottom of the plates (see photo). On most of the plates this rib was taller than the surrounding edges on the bottom of the plate. When you put it on a hard, flat surface like a table or counter, this causes it to rock back and forth like a bad table at a dive bar - only without the ability to stick a matchbook under a corner and calm your OCD. So I guess the upshot is this: If you're buying these for a restaurant or other setting where daily use will likely wear down the underside of the plates until they are level, these might be fine. If you're buying them for home use, there's a good chance you'll find it infuriating while listening to the constant click-clack of wobbling plates while your guests are eating.

I bought these for our wedding and they were beautiful. We had a dessert bar with mini desserts and they fit beautifully. Now we use them for cheese and charcuterie and other apps. It also looks pretty with layered salads like Caprese. I will say though that you need to clean them right away. A few got stains on them, and now matter what I do I can't get them off.

I write this and rate this as 5 since I got them for my mom and they love them I thought they seemed smaller than I expected but they are packaged well and I just got one plate in the first order but other then cant go wrong for the price.

I finally managed to get a shipment of these plates that wasn't broken. I like them because they look good and are the perfect size. I hate them because they do not sit level. Like other reviewers have commented, there is a reinforcing ridge down the center of the plate on the bottom that is higher than the edges, so the plates all rock. It makes me wonder if these are seconds. I think my solution to this is going to be to epoxy some rubber feet on the bottom of the plates. That'll keep them from clanking on my glass table top and keep the plates from rocking.

Nice size for multiple items. We are using this in our catering business for wedding menu tasting. We can fit several entrees for presentation and still have room for side dishes.
