During one of my last moves I lost my set of Wusthof knives and have been using a 10 inch chief and 10 inch sandwich knife from Chicago Cuterly as my daily go to knives; not good. So this will be used quit often. For $40 the knife is simply amazing, the weight and balance are near perfect. It feels great in my hand! I've had the knife for less than 24 hours, so I have NO idea how the steel will hold up over time. I can only tell you that if I were holding this knife in a retail store I would expect it to cost about $100-$120. It came sharpened, and works well with the sharpeners I have too. There's a good weight to it, although it could be a little heavier on the blade end. The packaging is very impressive as well (if that matters to you).
