The best bluetooth speaker on the market. update May 2023
I tried this against my friend's soundbox 1 & 2, with superior quality and portability. I have not run the battery out yet, and I have hosted three parties with this. I will update after a hot Florida summer and beaches.Detailed review for my snobs.1. Portability. It takes about 1 minute to set up and be ready to go. No power is needed at all.2. Battery Life. I used the speaker at a pool party for about 4 1/2 hours, 3 PM - 7:30 PM at about 80% volume, and saw almost no battery lost. 100% was honestly way too loud for our group of 40.3. Controls. I used an Ipad Mini and My JBL Pro APP to control each channel. I used the speaker to speak at a dance conference, and it did sensational with my Rode wireless mic hooked up to channel 1 with an XLR adapter. I was able to control my pitch and volume separately and flawlessly with my iPad.4. Loudness & Bass: I was in a 3,000 SQFT Ballroom, and I placed it dead center while I was teaching my dance class and had no issues filling the room with audio. Now for a large party for more than 200 People, I recommend the 2nd one to increase the range. If the ceiling is low in the venue in which you're using it, you will not be disappointed. The bass is much stronger than the soundbox three especially connected to power. We tested both sides by the side in a 2,000 SQFT clubhouse, and the separate bass module for the JBL made the difference. It was also slightly louder powered, and the battery sounded about the same, but the JBL was much crisper at higher volumes.Overall: This is the kind of super Bluetooth speaker. I have been looking for something portable but powerful, and this is absolutely the best product I have ever used. I cannot wait to purchase another one this summer for beach parties.May 2023 Update: still working perfectly even extremely hot Florida weather. Ran it 6 Hours at a pool party and no issues at all.

Portable Gig Speaker $1300
As a working pro musician for many years. It was arduous to decide which one to buy. I had already invested in other speakers and audio equipment. I went with the JBL ION one MK2. I will generally only use the two spacers. The third or middle one appears to lean. I tested the difference in large empty hall and it will do with two columns. Of course the more people you have in front of you the worst the "audio throw is". Your decibels are affected with humanity nearby. Not sure what improvements have been made over the MK1, but this one suffices for my needs. There is lot of discussion on the negative JBL customer service and the poor battery life. I have yet to experience that since I just started using the device.PROS: Good clear sound. Menu display okay. Intuitiveness could use a revamp. More on the initial setup and negatives. The bass quality is great. The treble is passable. Portability is one of the main reasons I purchased. This unit will eliminate about 80% of my chords, including electrical AC plugs and additional Amps. I plug in one mic, one music iPad, and one guitar. The guitar not so good quality. The mic quality is above average. Mic levels are easy to edit, you can add "reverb" to your hearts content.CONS: make sure you turn up the "gain" knob on all of the channels, otherwise you won't get much sound. It is factory default at the lowest gain. Making you think I don't have any sound coming out. Yes JBL does not explain this little detail in the setup. The quick start up guide sucks. It has one page with the barest of all details. The power on button after long pressing it, takes about 15 seconds to start. The power off button after a long press take 5 seconds to turn off the unit. The display is small, and the battery level indicator is a tiny little icon. Come on. Also after charging the bottom light on the bass unit stays on. ?.No unit cover, you have to buy the cover and carrier for $167. If I bought this cover, I will still have to carry my guitar, and mic stand, and assorted smaller wires, and cables into each gig. There could be elevators, stairs, and other obstacles. So don't let this unit fall, it is made of plastic all over. The three tower attachments are flimsy. Be careful when taking them apart. Be sure to tap in place, otherwise you will only get the bass output.I might report back soon after a few gig applications are done. Oh yeah, because of the higher up/array line up of speakers, as a solo artist you can hear yourself better, and there is no need for a separate monitor. Less setup and breakdown time, and more time for mic checks, and getting paid. Have a great show everyone!

Not user friendly at all
Too much bouncing around when editing. Too much delay in time between edits. Turn knob wait turn knob wait. Not my thing. App is useless.Unit takes forever to fire up. Makes you wonder if it even will. Don’t need the stress :). Bought the ev 30m. Great choice. A great all around unit compared to the JBL mk2. Went the extra bit because I needed battery for one gig for where I’m set up. That was original reason for mk2. Purchased an everse 8. Perfect for small gigs. All in all. Ev was the way to go.

It’s totally pro equipment! Awesome!
The sound is pro! The onboard effects are variable and really makes my voice sound better. I use it every other day and it lasts 5 hours plus. I’ve never run it to zero yet. Good volume to get over loud voices at small venues or traffic noise. No complaints at all!
