These are well made fixtures and sturdier than others I have installed. I have had inspectors fail installations because they didn’t see a thermal cutout that is typically present for Type IC Luminaires However in review of The UL PRODUCT CATEGORY for [Luminaires and Fittings] Light-emitting-diode Recessed Luminaires. This category covers luminaires intended for installation in recessed cavities in walls, ceilings and similar locations in accordance with Article 410, NFPA 70, and “National Electrical Code". These fixtures are rated as a “Inherently-protected Luminaires —UL states “A recessed luminaire that does not exceed temperatures greater than 90°C on outside surfaces even when covered with insulation and mis-lamped or overlapped is identified by the marking "INHERENTLY PROTECTED," which these fixtures comply with. I would buy these again

I have yet to install these, but they have solid construction. I have used Commercial Electric and Halo cans in the past (and still do), and I can say that these are built just as well if not better.Note that the maximum rated wattage is 18 Watts, as printed on the sticker in the can. This is important if you are designing a new circuit and need to know how many you can have on the same circuit. Strangely, the company representative did not know the max wattage when I asked.... but the UL sticker provides all the necessary information for inspectors. Most LED fixtures that plug into this can are around 11-13 watts, so 18 is plenty.

I bought these for a storage room in my basement. I painted the ceiling black to make all the ugly wiring and pipes disappear and then used these recessed lights so that I could finally see in there. The lights are AWESOME! They're a nice warm white rather than that glaring blue/white light that you get sometimes. They made all the shadows in the corners disappear. They're exactly what I wanted. I ordered a second batch to finish this room and get a head start on the other storage room that I still have to remodel. I would definitely buy from them again!

I used these in existing finished construction (but I had access to the joists). Cut a hole through the drywall and dropped these into place. They worked great and were easy to install. A few of them were bent right where the nail goes into the joist, but it wasn't a big deal, easy to bend back into place and then nail in. I bought these to add led basement lighting to a 1840ish house with 4x5 floor joists--6 inch cans wouldn't work. These are the perfect solution (though the nails wouldn't drive into 180 year old wood, drill and screw like always). I needed one more, which was $17 at a big box store.

This is the 3rd multi pack I have purchased from Sunco. The build quality is excellent and the push in connectors are easy to use. You can't get a better buy from the box stores. I am a DIY guy with no formal electrical training outside college physics and youtube.

Easy install, work great and very reasonable price, especially compared to Halo at Home Depot or Lowes. I've also installed their Old-Construction cans of the same size. I'll be installing more recessed lighting in other room and will most definitely be ordering Sunco cans again (next projects will require Old-Construction cans).
