When shopping for equipment, I was tempted to buy a $40 drum throne, thinking that he might not stick with it and also, "How much is there to a small stool?"Boy am I glad I didn't go that route. This Drum Throne,Drum Stool Height Adjustable,Heavy Duty Motorcycle Style Seat for Drummers Piano Players is worth every penny compared to the cheap $40-$45 thrones that are poorly made, wobble and loosen up over time. When you are drumming, you need to be stable and not wobbly when you are putting power into hitting the drums. Also, the cheap thrones look like they will fall apart in no time at all.This is comfortable and it doesn't just look like a heavy duty version of the cheap models. It actually looks as though thought and design process was used. It has strong legs, and a comfortable seat that is way better than a circular pad.I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND spending the extra money to get a better quality throne like this, rather than saving a few dollars and ending up having to replace a cheap throne later.This is a definite five stars for me. I would recommend it to family or friends and you too if you are looking for a first time throne, or even a replacement throne for your drum set. I don't know anything about using this for a piano.
