Aden: Vampires in America, Book 7

D.B Reynolds has outdone herself this go ‘round
Well folks, dare I say this has to be my favorite book in the series so far? Yes, yes I will. There is just something about Aden that made me fall in love. His back-story unfolding was mesmerizing - give me a wounded hero that can maintain his heart any day of the week.Chi town is where the action is this time. Aden is set to take the territory with the “help” of the other Lords in his corner. Dealing with other Lord wannabes is a taxing endeavor. It’s during the gala that he meets the scrappy take-no-prisoners reporter Sid. Sidonie is trying to expose the human slave ring in Chicago, and in doing so needs the help of Lord-to-be Aden. What she doesn’t expect is to be drawn in to Aden; he is a shadow of darkness with a terrifying past. When she learns he was born a slave, she finds that Aden will be her best ally. These two are a fantastic couple. I laughed out loud so many times at the banter and sass these guys threw at each other.“A cell phone? Please. Who’re you going to call? Buffy?“Look,” she snapped, trying without success to push him away. “I get the whole alpha male, vampire lord-of-all-he-surveys thing, okay? I kind of even like it in the bedroom. But out in the real world, you are not the boss of me. I don’t forfeit my brain just because we have sex. And I’ll do whatever I think necessary to get my story. Besides, it’s not like most of what I do is dangerous. I’m not exactly Woodward and Bernstein material. But I’m not stupid either. I don’t take unnecessary risks, and I’m careful with the risks I do take.”“Kind of like it?”Sid is a tough girl, no ‘damsel in distress’ kind of heroin. She is confident, strong, fearless, and just the kind of woman Aden needs. She is a welcome addition to the VIA spouses club.In the end, Aden reveals all of his past and in doing so gets the best reward of all. I really did love this installment of the Vampires in America series. D.B Reynolds has outdone herself this go ‘round, and I cannot wait till the next!5 Brilliant Stars!!T~

V of A, a wonderful series but …
I love this series and DB Reynolds is a talented writer. One of my favorites. However, I didn’t love this book as much as I’ve loved the others. The plot was pretty good but not as good as the other books in my opinion. One of the things I think DB does so well is add depth to her characters and the plot line is usually outstanding. In this book I thought the heroine was weak. Maybe I’m just too used to kick ass heroines … Cyn being my fav … I just thought Sid lacked pizazz and she and Aden fell in love way to fast for me. When characters fall for each other so fast there’s no growing tension between the hero and heroine. For me that aspect fell flat. Again, I love this series and DB is an exceptional writer especially in this genre where the sex can be so gratuitous that it’s not sexy. Aden is a wonderful character and his background is deep. It’s just Sid who isn’t a favorite.

This was a fabulous read and Aden is beyond Apha.
I have the entire series and each one keeps getting better.Raphael and Cyn is by far my favorites, but I do have a great fondness for Aden and Sid. They play each well and Sid's personality is smooth and humorous. Aden's remarks are funny and yet strong with keeping his Alpha nature true. Their love comes full circle and I got to see the real Aden. The only negative thing is that the next book is not yet for sale. This is a book you need to read. It's well written, hot and sexy, full of vampire politics, and real keeps Vampires in America rocking.

Great Addition to Series
This was a great continuation to the series. If you haven't read the others, I highly recommend you read this series in order, as many of the characters that come into play have a whole background you need to know about to fully grasp the tale.I think that Aden is definitely one of those "acquired taste" alphas. He's not overly sweet and caring. He's just a guy/vamp with a brutal background that uses sex and women as a way of controlling what he couldn't control in the past.I could see how some might see him more as an AlphaA$$ than anything else. But I truly thought his type of alpha was perfect for his background and this story.Sid is a his perfect heroine. She's strong, intelligent but very compassionate. These two together are great. The story is great. Getting to glimpse at our previous heros/heroines was awesome. As usual, Reynolds delivers a very interesting, page turning story with hot mama-gamma sex intertwined with a really great love story. It overall couldn't have gotten better for me.I wasn't even upset that at one point Sid saved herself and Aden just was there to "pick her up and take her home" lol.Highly recommend this book and this series!

Excellent!!!!
Wow this was an excellent story. Well I was angry with Aden about 80% of the book but I loved the determination in Sidonie yo bring him where he wanted... Almost . Maybe other book houses were too naif to think the Vampires of DB Reynolds are too violent but I don't want stupid loving vampires I left them for the teenage girls that sure enjoy that kind of characters in story. After read about "Kagen" help with the art of Aden's Vampires I would like to see the art works I expect DB Reynolds share them one day. I can't wait for Vincent this is taking a good tourn around for the future books.

Nearly a price too far
Aden is the seventh of this series unless you include the Vignettes and the short novellas, then it is number ten and I have loved each and every one without reservation.I love the darkness and yes, I love the violence. Human life is often dark and violent so why would vampire life be any different? I find the writing so real, so compelling that I have to almost believe that these vampires are real and among us. I doubt they could make a bigger mess of things than we do. In fact I have to admit that I love this series as much as the first seven books of J R Ward's Brotherhood series. The price of less than 290 pages though is a whole other matter. At just over £5.00 it is very nearly a price too high. This is not a paperback, I don't get a book I can stroke, a book with a beautiful colour front cover, a book I can flick back and forth through with ease. This is an ebook that after it's original cost can produce 10,000 as easily and as cheaply as ten. And before someone writes to me and tells me to buy 'real' books then, let me say this. I would love to, but and it is a big but, my very small house was at saturation point nearly three years ago a fact that drove me, albeit reluctantly, into the arms of my Kindle. I thank whichever god pointed me in that direction because now my very powerful Kindle Keyboard holds more books than you could shake a stick at. I don't dispense with my books, they are my loves and my companions who never let me down. I buy many books from many Indie authors but if ebooks become too expensive and over five pounds is too expensive, my loss will also be the loss of many other authors.
