No only does it works well. It makes my truck look way better than the standard antenna.

Survives the carwash
Best version of a stubby antenna. Principally got this as a replacement to survive the abuse of a car wash. And at that it excels. But more importantly, there is no reduction in radio reception. Works at least as good as a standard OEM antenna.

Mainly for Looks
I had a very long radio antenna on my new Ford F250 SuperDuty that worried me when I went through the car wash with all the brushes and wipes. I knew purchasing a smaller antenna was going to limit over-the-air radio signal (especially on the AM band) but I primarily listen to satellite radio or streaming music anyway. This was a very quick and simple replacement - just screw the old one off and replace it with the new, shorter antenna. Then, test things out.I live about 50 miles (as the crow flies) from the Dallas/Fort Worth radio station transmitting towers.First, I tried the FM stations, and had acceptable reception. On most of the major D/FW stations I'd say reception was a 6 or 7 on a scale of 10. It was pretty easy to listen to, but some static/interference was obvious. There are weaker FM stations in the area that were pretty much unlistenable. Just too much interference to be able to enjoy.Next, I tried the AM band. The 50,000 watt "blowtorch" signal of WBAP-AM was hard to listen to because of the static. Fortunately, they also transmit/simulcast on the FM band so in the event of severe weather I would still be able to pull their signal in if I was in my home area.All-in-all it was about what I suspected. I know it's almost impossible to make a small antenna that will adequately receive AM signals, and much easier for FM broadcasts.I primarily wanted this so my antenna didn't get ripped off and my truck damaged in the carwash - and it looks cool. It would be a very rare occasion that I would listen to AM or FM, and if I needed to I could simply stream it on my phone to my truck radio via CarPlay. If you depend on listening to commercial, over-the-air radio and you're more than 25 or 30 miles away from the broadcast towers, I wouldn't recommend this for that purpose. If you're looking for something safer in the carwash and with a cool look - this is a great item.

Nice low profile.
Nice for the truck wash, not getting the hell beat out of the antenna.

This product sucks
This product did not improve my antenna signal very much compared to signal before getting this signal booster and the hidden antenna that comes with the booster does not even pick up a signal at all I do not recommend this product

So So
Replaced my OEM head unit with an android. The radio was good buthad static. Bought this hoping the boost will make the channels clearer. There are 2 items in this package and use the one that will suit your need.Installation was a breeze. I did notice my favorite fm station sounded clearer(I think) but other stations didn't make a difference. I have not try any AM yet.Don't expect this to make all your channels clearer (my case anyway)Giving 3 stars. Maybe I was expecting this to magically make all my channels non static. Not sure if it made much difference for me it but left it on
