Perfect, good quality glass jars. They are pretty much perfect. No problems at all. I use some to store extra pills in, and even in a warm room, the jars stay cool. That is very important, especially with gelatin capsules that can melt if they get too hot. I suspect that these jars stay so cool because of the nice thick glass. I absolutely love the size of these. I can't find a reason that someone would NOT be able to use these. I also like the sort of modern design and shape of these glass jars. Other jars are more square and box-like, but these are more rounded. The black plastic screw tops are nice and sturdy as well. You might notice that the price is at least a few bucks more than other glass jars of the same size. I've looked through dozens and dozens of them on Amazon. I honestly think that if you make DIY goods and want to sell a nice, good-looking product, you may want to consider these jars over cheaper ones. These are beautiful and sturdy jars. They look attractive as well as doing what they're made for. They will not break or shatter easily, they don't smell weird, they're totally airtight, they're really cute in size, and like I said... they're perfect.2nd Purchase: I purchased another set of these glass jars and this time, they came in bad condition. The first order was 5 stars. But with this one, the lids are all worn and totally scratched up as if they've been used a LOT. Even the original jars I handle often never get that half that bad. Every jar cap is smudged and scratched up, and washing them doesn't improve their condition, so I'm dropping the review to 3 stars. If you plan to give diy gifts, be aware of this problem.

These are my new spice jars, and they are great!Quality:As others have said, the glass is high quality, clear and thick. The lid is glossy black plastic of decent quality (it doesn't feel brittle) with one of those waxy paper inserts that provides the seal. It can be closed somewhat tightly, so if you are thinking of using these for cosmetics, you should be safe traveling with thicker substances like waxes or creams, but traveling with an actual liquid in here would be a gamble. I love  Nalgene  travel containers to leak-proof my liquids. It will definitely be sufficient for keeping herbs, spices or an 1/8 of weed fresh for a few months.Size:I took a picture with a somewhat standard-sized spice jar. It's less than 1/2 as tall, and a little wider. External dimensions are 2-1/8" diameter and 2" height. It holds 2 oz. (i.e. 1/4 cup or 60mL) up to the lip below the threads, so if necessary, you could put a little more than 2 oz. in there.Packaging:Some reviews from early 2016 said that the jars arrived broken. I bought these in January, 2017, and they were double bubble-wrapped with care. It seems like Amazon has taken care of this problem. Nalgene

Well these were a dissapointment! I was specifically looking to use these for baby food and wanted them to be freezer safe as well.I will say they are packaged very nicely and the jars are nice but the lids have a foam insert that is glued down - this was concerning for me for my baby - I removed the foam and was trying to remove the glue with coconut oil and then will wash again...(pic above) however the lid scratched on the inside so I just threw away all the lids because of the possible chemical leaking -also two of my lids did come chipped... I will be on the hunt for non toxic reusable lids

I searched for a glass jar that would fit into a stash box next to my grinder, also a classy way to exchange different strains of herbs with my card holder friends.These are perfect for that. A 3.5 ounce quantity of herbs, before grinding, fit in there perfectly with a little room to spare. If your herbs are ground, it will hold perhaps twice that.These jars are the same size as my 2 inch grinder.I just love being able to have a box with all my herb enthusiast items in it, and be able to also fit a few different strains, packaged neatly and in an organized manner. I'm ordering more today.It's true the caps are somewhat cheap, but they work fine for me. If you are trying to put food or liquid type oils in these, you might look for something different.
