After some months Review: No glass cover, wooden finish, extra long hour needle !! - I didn't like it honestly. No glass protection. Open needles and frame will catch dust and may reduce the rotation mechanism lifespan short (not sure, but feel so). In the picture it looks premium, but not in real (again, personal opinion). Both minutes and second needles are almost same length (in the picture shown in desertcart, its perfect in length but way different in real product). Wish the hour needle to be little shorter. No seconds needle which is good and its a silent clock. 1 x AA battery. Wooden finish. I would use Energizer or even Ray O Vac as they produce 1.61 volts, and the copper top only puts out 1.5 volts and a higher defect rate. **Q: Are the hands made of real wood or plastic?** A: The hand of the wall clock is made of real wood. Looks pretty for office. **Q: Is this wall clock silent?** A: Mine was so silent that I thought the clock or my battery was dead when I first installed the battery. However, I wanted a kitchen wall clock that was simple, sort of elegant, the right size. And I wanted a touch of red and planned to paint the hands red. The first clock didn't work, and I gave it one more try. This is working, and I put red permanent marker on the hands. Looks red-brown, but I like it.
