Never knew what I was missing until I tried this. Really is helpful when dicing - it holds the root end of the onion tight, keeps the onion layers at the root end from moving around. You are completely safe from the knife and makes onion dicing neater and faster. I've only tried it on onions so can't comment on other vegetables, but it is worth it just for the onions.

Works and is small and convenient
I have purchased several gadgets to chop onions. So far this is the easiest one to use. You don't have to have a lot of strength in your hands to push down on it to push the veggie through.

Great Little Gadget
Sometimes I get in a hurry, and my knife skills are not the best. But I want nice uniform slices on an onion especially when caramelizing. This little gizmo does the trick .
