Q: Can this be easily and safely anchored into the cinderblock side of the house? Do I need to buy anchors or special screws?

We suggest that you choose a place that is strong enough to support the load. The vedio include the installation hardare accessories. The 2 Expension Hooks on my hand are the screws that need to be inserted into the wall. The installations of them is: 1. Drill a hole into the surface at the desired location. 2. Insert the expansion hook into the hole. 3. Use a screwdriver or wrench to turn the expansion hook clockwise. As you turn it, the metal sleeve or wings inside the hook will expand, creating a secure hold within the hole. 4.Keep turning until the expansion hook is firmly anchored in the hole and cannot be easily pulled out.

Q: What is the dimensions of the expansion pipe? I’m trying to measure how deep and wide I need to drill.

Take the bolt to a hardware/home improvement store and the will help you pick the right diameter masonry drill bit. The depth should be enough to slide the entire smooth section into the wall, with only the fastener nut and hook sticking out.

Q: Can this be made shorter?

Yes. You can dertmine the length by either cutting the line or just folding it over longer when attaching the end brackets. Very easy to put together.
