I purchased this item specifically to use on my Harley Davidson to monitor the battery condition since I replaced it recently due to age. I installed an active charging port in one saddle bag for charging my phones, portable GPS navigation, or wireless music device and earbuds while riding, and it fits perfectly. One nice feature is that it is portable, and I can transfer it to my classic car or my two daily drivers. It appears very well made, has a clean simple design, and the LED display is easy to read. This device fits snugly in all four of my vehicles multiple receptacles, and it works well in all. The battery charge status is indicated before vehicle start, and the charge rate displays while running. The two USB ports work well to charge my Android, my iPhone, or both. Because of the quality of this unit at a reasonable price with a warranty, I believe it is a good value, and I will likely purchase at least one more.

I purchased this basically for the voltmeter. It seems most cars now days do not include a way to see the voltage in the 12dc voltage system in the vehicle. I was stranded once by my Dodge which indicated "Battery Saver Mode" and couldn't figure out exactly what that meant. If only it had said "charging system failed" or similar. Having this device in the car would have provided the info needed in that situation. The reason it loses a star is that the top part of the display is cutoff when reading from the seat. the display is bright and clear enough though. It fits well in the socket of the newly redesigned Honda Passports and Pilots. And provides USB A charging ports now that Honda is moving everything to USB C charging ports.

Use it on my boat. Very useful. Saved a lot of money putting a voltage gauge in the dash. It also gives you 2 USB connection. This is a must have for me.

My 2007 Honda Odyssey doesn’t have a volt meter, so I wanted some way to verify the alternator and battery. This little guy fits the bill. Since it also comes with 3 usb ports is just a bonus for me. As far as the indicated voltage discrepancy: I’m sure it’s just a rounding error on the meter, or my Fluke is just more sensitive, or because I was reading right at the battery. Nothing to worry about though.

This is a triple USB outlet that plugs into the usual cigarette lighter socket of a vehicle. The first thing I noticed is that the spring in the base is very strong. The unit required a good amount of force to push it into the socket all the way. This is good for my purposes because I am using it in a 4WD vehicle that gets a lot of hard bumps that could dislodge a weaker spring. If one is going to constantly insert and remove this unit, the amount of force may eventually damage the outlet. Much left unsaid in the description of this unit, so I researched the amperages of several devices that I will be using in my vehicle. I will fill in the blanks in the advertising. First, the green outlet labeled QC 3.0 means that the maximum amperage output at this port is 3.0 amps. The unit is rated at 36 watts which means that at 12 volts, all the power would be going to this port for a device drawing 36 watts. Luckily, most iphones use 20 watts so there will be 16 watts left for the other 2 ports. Not mentioned are the amperages of the other two ports. For USB 2.0 the maximum is 0.5 amp and for USB 3.0 it is 0.9 amps. This comes out to 6 watts and 11 watts. If one is trying to use two iphones, the one on the 3.0 port will stay charged but the one on the other port will not. One must be careful about how many devices are being used on this unit. All in all it is ideal for my purposes which are to use a GPS, a hand held GMRS radio and a cell phone. All together those do not exceed 36 amps. A nice feature is that the detected volts in the cigarette socket is displayed in blue on the unit. The reading I get is 12.8 V which is probably accurate. This may give one warning if the battery in the vehicle is getting weak, which is any voltage less than 12 V.
