Axcel Sights 7 Pin .019 Fiber Armortech HD Hunting Sight (Black)

I purchased the 7-pin 0.019" diameter fiber sight for my Mathews VXR28 (70#/28"). When I first opened the Amazon box and saw the simple plastic blister packaging, I was thinking this was going to be some barely passable product. I am pleased to say I was completely misled by my assumption about the packaging. Yes, the packaging is simple, but the product within is incredible. This will teach me not to judge a book by its cover.The sight is very solid and feels like a quality product. The allen wrenches included with it unfortunately do not fit the two flat head screws for mounting it to the bow. A minor inconvenience since any serious archer looking for such a sight should already have a full complement of hex wrenches for bow tuning. Speaking of wrenches, the gross windage and elevation adjustments are tool-free and work by the way of first loosening the lockdown thumbscrew and then turning the knurled knob that clicks and has etched markings to guide how far you have moved things. The individual pins are adjusted by first loosening the hex screw using the supplied small allen wrench and then turning the elevation knob under the circular pin guard. This adjustment manner is far more precise than manually sliding the pins up and down. I do not know how the mechanism works, but it only moves the pin that has been loosened and will not move those that are locked down.The fibers are bright and glow nicely even on cloudy days and into the evening hours. In the event it is not bright enough, there exists a threaded hole on the underside of the pin guard for a 3/8-32 rheostat light. At first, I was dubious about my decision to get a 7-pin sight, having used 5-pin sights usually. I was worried the two additional pins would be too much clutter and mess with my shooting. Thankfully, the Mathews VXR28 is a pretty fast and flat-shooting bow so I was able to get the pins spaced out nicely for 10-70 yards. With the exception of the individual pins, the tool-free adjustment made the sighting-in process a snap and I had things dialed in perfectly within the hour.My sight is the HD version which means it has the Mathews Harmonic Damper. My local shop has a cool demo showing how the HDs work. There are two risers: one with and one without the dampers. The tech drops them on the floor in sequence and you can distinctly hear the difference the Harmonic Dampers make in how the clang noise is significantly reduced in amplitude and duration. Never once did I have any kind of rattle or noise from the sight and I am pretty sure having the Harmonic Damper on the arm helped with that. While it doesn't do anything for performance, having the HD on the sight makes it blend in nicely with the Harmonic Stabilizer present on the VXR28 for a cool aesthetic touch.I really cannot find anything bad to say about this sight. 7-pins may be a bit much for some, especially if they are shooting a slower bow. However, having solid sights for anything from 10yds to 70yds fully covers my range for any possible hunting distance as well as being able to pretty much hit any target at my local archery club range. I highly recommend this sight.

This is truly a sight that is high quality, very tough, easy to adjust, and i could not be happier. Would definately recommend this sight, and i have tried many of them.

Exactly what i was looking for . very rugged and extremely precise all in one sight. I have owned sights from most of the big names but none even come close to the durability of this sight.

this 7 pin sight must be for super fast bows because the diameter of the ring is to small for 7 pins.
