So much better and stronger than the plastic variety.
We had our closet remodeled a few years ago and the carpenter used the plastic brackets. After several years of use (and two over sized cats periodically climbing up the clothes to get to the upper shelves -- but that is another story) one of the caps failed and all the clothes came tumbling down. I ordered these as a replacement. The job took about 10 minutes to remove the old caps, replace the new caps and put all the clothes back up. I am confident that these caps will last forever, will stand up to our cats, and I won't have to re-do the job.

Brackets are great but the screws it comes with suck.
My husband thought he was crazy! The screws that came woth the brackets weren't staying on the drill head and was having trouble with them going into the wall. Found the head of the screw where the drill bit goes in is too shallow and the screw itself had now threading. Only half the screws were usable. If you get these, just make sure you use your own screws.
