Great for Hunting.
This is a powerful little light. I wish other manufacturers would offer something like this that's rechargeable with an adjustable beam, but for a AAA powered unit, this does the trick. Battery life is questionable, it will probably run for a few hours if left on. Sometimes it doesn't come on when I click the switch, so sometimes I have to click it a couple of times to get the light to come on, which tells me the QC on these flashlights is questionable, so there's that.I mounted the light on my Crosman 1322 Ratter, this is the pistol I use to take out vermin that traps can't, supposedly Rats can't see red light. So, when I spotted a rat with this pen light, it didn't react as if it would if I hit it with a standard flashlight. The rat didn't move, and remained motionless, until I fired dropping it dead on the floor.Rats are pretty intelligent, and they communicate via squeaks and urine scent, so if a certain area is dangerous, they will mark it and warn others that the area is dangerous for them, you can combat their communication with a spray bottle full of full strength vinegar to help kill oders. This is what I do, your results may vary. But this little red flashlight is a valuable tool if your doing varmint and vermin control.Even though the QC is questionable... A 4 pack at this price is a great deal and deserves 5 Stars.

Good for Night Shift workers at a hospital
I bought these for work because I work a night shift at a hospital and we’re required to carry flashlights, but a common complaint from patient was that the lights were getting in their eyes and waking them up at night: I bought this and shared them with my coworkers and we’ve definitely had an improvement in patient satisfaction because the red light doesn’t wake them up at night. It’s still allows me to see and do my job while not disrupting them.

Not Bad!
I was very surprised by the brightness of this light, and the fact that the tail cap keeps working and doesn’t fall apart. Just as good as any streamlight. Very happy with this product. Unfortunately, it does not have a white light mode but other than that, I think it’s very handy.

Been looking for reliable red penlight.
I tried the little red Mag Light, and it was tiny, reliable and decent light, but hard to find even in my pocket. I’ve purchased a few other brands, and they usually fail after the first slash. (I was delivering a yacht, and the crew started calling me disco Dave because my little red lights were always blinking (especially when I really needed them). I’m a professional sailor, and often need a handy red light at night. I bought the package of three, and keep one in the box. But the two I am using have really been great. Perfect size (think big pen), and brightness. Thanks for good value and product.

powerful
awesome!!! small and compact, yet powerful enough for a walk around. was only a few more dollars for a 4 pack, so why not share the love with my students. does not include batteries, but worth the money. If I lose, I would repurchase.

Great flashlight...but probably not reverse-polarity protected.
I have 8 lights from the original manufacturer with the same basic design: 4 red, 2 UV and 2 white. They are well made, easy to carry, and very bright. One caution is that they may not be protected against putting the batteries in backwards. I accidentially put the batteries backwards in one, and it was either alredy bad, or I killed it....I assume the latter. I'm not trying another one to find out! I agree with the vendor that a simple on/off switch is best for most applications; some of the bright/dim/strobe models are a nuisance to use.

Too Bright
We like these flashlights but everyone in our family thinks they are too bright. Your eyes have to adjust to the brightness when you first turn them on. It’s not what you would expect from a red light flashlight. It’s annoying enough that we rarely use them anymore.

A simple red light
For the most part I like these lights. They seem to be well built and have had no malfunctions with any of them I’ve tried (like 6 or so). They were reasonably priced which is why I bought the multi pack. I pretty much give one to whomever comes over. I also like the size. It’s pretty standard for a double AAA battery light. My one complaint is that it only has one level and it’s pretty darn bright. I wish it had dimming ability but I still like the lights.
