Igloo Automatic Self-Cleaning Portable Electric Countertop Ice Maker Machine with Handle, 26 Pounds in 24 Hours, 9 Ice Cubes Ready in 7 Minutes, with Ice Scoop and Basket

I tried my Jackey 500 to make ice. But the Igloo ice maker shut download. When I used used it on my 3000 watt inverter it made ice with no problems. My inverter showed an average of 10 amps with an occasional increase of 13 amps. Therefore, on an average, it takes 1100 watts of ac power to make ice with an occasional increase of 1430 watts to make ice. I would not use a DC to AC inverter of less than 1500 watts to make ice. I believe most portable ice makers require similar wattage requirements. I am keeping my Igloo because the price right and it makes great icebergs.

I first saw this ice maker at my local auto body shop and when I asked them about it they couldn’t stop raving. It was an extremely hot summer day and they offered me a very refreshing iced coffee, I knew right away I was going to buy one. I live in a three level home and the master bedroom is on the third floor with access to a small rooftop. This ice maker is just what we needed to keep our drinks cool without the extra cardio of going to the kitchen. The ice maker is very quiet, self cleans and makes ice in as little as 7 minutes. It is portable, can use it at home as well as on the rooftop/yard. I would purchase this again!

Barely used it maybe 2 weeks total over 2 years and the light full indicator stays on and it stops making ice. Igloo removed the ability to bypass this error by holding down the select option. Igloo also changed their circuit board and wiring by gluing in the sensors making it impossible for a normal person to troubleshoot. I am never buying Igloo again.

Don't ask why but I bought enough countertop icemakers after the holidays to start my own review channel. But I won't because I've got a face for texting. The Igloo maker here is not terrible. It is made well and will make ice and that's what you need. But I believe the competition is better. The Frigidaire models that I bought (both the cheapest and most expensive) made larger ice, and it was much dryer during the making process. The Igloo unit was dripping coming out of the basket. And it turned the ice bin in the freezer into one giant clump. All ice will stick together a bit but the Igloo ice was like leaving it on the counter for half an hour. It's just a bit subpar, but does the job if you need.

Never run out of ice again! Awesome portable ice maker! Makes ice in no time! Easy to use & clean! When our regular refrigerator can't keep up with a house full of guests then this ice maker is perfect. Instead of buying & storing bags of ice, this has been a life saver when we have parties. It's really awesome & it looks nice!!

What a great ice maker. We’ve used it numerous times and we’re always happy with the amount of ice made in a short amount of time. I wipe the excess water off the plastic holder before dumping the ice into my freezer container. If I don’t, the ice tends to freeze in a block. Do make sure that the unit is completely dry before stored. A paper towel to wipe the insides and leaving the top open for 24 hours allows the unit to dry. Satisfied with this appliance!

This ice maker has stopped working after 5 months. Simply not long enough and appears to happen to almost all ice makers of this particular design. I have researched the reviews for this problem of the ice full indication error and find it is occurring far too often. The solutions for the error go back over 5 years but still occur. I do not recommend this product.

Quite, makes ice fast! I did hours of research and I’m so glad I pulled the trigger in this one! Also has self cleaning option.
