Is the body easy to take on and off for storage?

Yes, top is very easy to move. Base full of sand a bit harder.

Is this for punching as well? And how hard could it be punched?

It's awesome for punching, I go in on it, I can pack a punch and it'll wobble (I have to add more weight to it) but its really nice. My precision, speed and power are improved forsure.
