I think it’s such a quick way to elevate a space. I bought loctite, caulk and construction screws in case they were needed for the install but we didn’t need any of them because the fixture itself holds the lightweight medallion in place just fine without any adhesives. the canopy of the light we installed was a ~4 1/2 inches diameter and worked well sitting over the inside of the medallion. the only thing i would do differently is go bigger next time, I got the 16” medallion but probably would go 20” or larger next time because our room is 10x13” and I think 20” is the recommended size.
