6-Inch External Extractor Wall Vent Cushioned Non Return Flap

This replacement flap is solid quality and very easy to install. It fit perfectly and replaced our old broken one without any issues. Looks great and functions just like new. Exactly what we needed for a quick fix.

This was impressive right out of the box - the packing itself I would add was really tough box offering max protectionOnce installed, the clean lines and Stainless finish looks very classy on the exterior wall.I understand why some might have been frustrated with the rubber gasket, which is slightly smaller than the frame: however I personally think this was a positive thing. TIP: a little bit of SuperGlue on the corners was enough to secure it firmly in place. Then you can easily snug it up tight against the wall for a tight seal.The Flapper on mine fit well and moved freely; and when held off-axis slightly you could see it seal nicely - the gasket is a bonus here, to dampen any banging! When mounted however it did hang ever so slightly open - this is more a factor of the wall's true verticality though. Perhaps a suggestion for the manufacturer is to recognize that many will have this issue - if it was designed with a built-in internal angle of only a few degrees it would solve this without any negative impact on the functionality.The only other thing I found was the mounting screws were too short for me - Mine had to go through the Dryvit Stucco into the plywood sheathing, so with the thickness of the vent itself (which is nearly an inch) I needed 2-1/2" screws. It would be a bonus if the manufacturer could supply a few different lengths to accommodate different wall thicknesses.Very pleased though, an incredible value I would say.

Forget those plastic dryer vents. All metal construction. Easy to install and standard dryer vent size to cover where the existing vent was. Damper keeps out the cold and bugs. Easy to clean. Price is good for a great functioning device. No noticeable noise from the damper when in operation.

This product is of good quality overall. The rain cover is easily removable, though the screen is not, which could be improved. Installation was straightforward—the most time-consuming part was installing the gasket.Suggestions to the manufacturer:The gasket is a bit tricky to install. It would be helpful if it came pre-installed, which could save DIYers a good amount of time and effort.Currently, to clean out the duct, the entire unit needs to be unscrewed and removed. Making the screen removable without having to take out the entire unit (i.e., unscrewing all four screws) would be a great improvement.As mentioned in the product description, the buckles can secure the vent to the duct. I've chosen to leave the screws off for now to see how well the buckles hold, since I clean the duct periodically and want to avoid the hassle of removing the whole unit each time.

The cover is durable, a value for the money, and keeps small animals from entering my home through the vent. The vent cover closes when not in use and has a special flap inside that doesn't allow the vent to be fully open when my dryer is being used. We have had the vent a couple of years now. I can attest to it's durability. Bases on its appearance, I expect many years of service from this cover. It came with screws to attach to outdoor wall, but it fit so snug, the screws were not used.
