The cards are very well made and very cute. They dinosaur illustrations are very nice and the facts on the cards are cute as well. Some things are a little confusing, like some symbols mean something and some are just designs. The animals vary from actual prehistoric animals to things like a Woolly Mammoth which has only been extinct 4000 years to a Hoatzin, a bird that still exists today. I love that they show pronunciation guides and also the size of the creature compared to a human.

Large sized cards
These dinosaur flashcards not only have dinosaurs but also other prehistoric animals. Each card is quite large which makes them user-friendly for multiple kids like in the classroom or if it was being held up in a reading circle. There are pictures on one side with some important features pointed out. While the other side is more dense with information. The first thing I really appreciate is how to pronounce each dinosaurs name. Some of them are tricky even for me. It’s important for me to be able to pronounce them correctly to help teach my child. There are fun facts on the dinosaurs as well. But what I think is really neat about the card is that they also offer some questions to promote critical thinking and help the child process some of the information that they just learned about that particular animal. These cards are stored in a sturdy cardboard type sleeve. It has a fliptop with Velcro to keep them closed. What I personally appreciate about that is so often cards do not come with their own containers that can be reused. The thin paper is often very difficult to use without ripping for children. This is thick and the kids have been able to open the flap easily and put the cards back in.The flashcards are fun for dinosaur lovers but they also serve an educational purpose. I really think it just depends on the age of the child and what the need is. For us, it’s more for fun and just a little extra learning.

Very Organized Flash Cards Full Of Prehistoric Information
We expected these flash cards to be standard size—what a pleasant surprise to discover they’re about twice as big, and also include other prehistoric animals besides dinosaurs. Our five year old is delighted with them—she knows the most common, but this makes learning the rest a fun and easy process. The cards help kids remember by highlighting special features about each prehistoric animal. For instance, the Shunosaurus picture points out its unique clubbed tail and very thick neck; the sauropelta has distinctive bony armor and neck spikes. The backs of cards help with correct pronunciations and size comparisons. They also offer a few more facts and pose interesting questions. The cards are also color coded according to diet types—orange for carnivore, green for herbivore and blue for omnivore. The symbols D and P in each corner of a card let kids know if it’s a dinosaur or a different type of prehistoric creature. Instead of reading books at night, our little girl has asked to look at these cards instead—they are certainly holding her attention. One of my photos shows how big the flash cards are in comparison to an Uno card.

awesome quick information cards
These are just fantastic! The cards are great- they feel sturdy in my hands and the glossy finish looks really good. We love the pictures and the short info on the back of the card was just enough to keep all of my kids' attention as we go through the cards. All the kids, ages 9-4 were enthralled. We got to a point where we'd guess facts about the dinosaur based on the pictures on front. You get points if you can figure out if it's an herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore... and if you can say it correctly, that's like 100 bonus points. I love that there's a pronunciation on the back. My seven and nine year olds had no problem figuring that out. Also we really liked the size comparison to the standard man. It was really cool to imagine how big these dinosaurs were. I'd give this more stars if I could- we really enjoy these cards!

Great Update!
I had saved the dinosaur flash cards I had from when I was a kid to pass down to the next generation, but let’s face it…they are pretty out of date. Educational hand-me-downs that include science aren’t always the most accurate. So I was super excited to get these dinosaur flash cards for my little one. As soon as I saw the feathers on the dinosaurs, I knew I made the right call with these. The pictures are all very colorful and detailed. The back of each card includes so much information, so much! I love that these cards are very thick and have their own case. Overall, a fantastic set of flash cards for learning about dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals.

Great set but needs thicker cards
I got this for my 7 year old son that loves dinos. They arrived in a sturdy box with a velcro closure. The cards themselves are clearly printed. One side has a picture and name of a dino, with two main features of each dino. There is a wide variety of dinosaurs . . . most we had already heard of or were familiar with. The flip side has facts like pronunciation, size, diet, and when it lived. There are then questions designed to get you to think about the dino (although no answers). That lack of answers is one thing I dislike . . . My son is not of the age that I am going to turn him loose online unguided so instead of being an independent activity it is a bonding one. Granted, a lot of the answers he already knew . . . but just the same. The other thing is that although the cards are cut nicely, they are quite thin. One time through and my son had several bent despite *trying* (he is a young boy after all) to take care of them. And the information on them is too basic for my older child to enjoy.

I bought these cards for my 6 year old nephew for Christmas. He has been having a blast looking at the cards and learning about all the different dinosaurs.

Great gift
My 5 year old loves these. He will pull out a car and give hints to what dinosaur it is so we can guess. He can't read all the facts yet but they are very informative and interesting
