GROHERetro-Fit Shower System 6 In. Height Extension

The item itself is well constructed.The low rating is because the item description says it fits all Retro-FIt systems and it doesn't. There's another item Grohe 26-464 which has a shorter top section. This was the part needed to fit the Retro-fit system that I have.In the photos, the bronze with chrome photo shows the part that was removed from the top of the system and the new top part. You can see how different in size it is. The chrome with exposed O-ring photo shows the gap using this piece.

I wanted to use this to extend the height of my shower head for my Vitalio Flex Retro fit shower system by GROHE.It does not work with this system and upon extensive research I have found that it does not work with ANY Retro fit system currently being made by Grohe-only systems that have been discontinued!!! The Amazon website description clearly states that this extender is compatible with all GROHE Retro fit systems. Since the shower head practically sits on top of my husband's head I have no chose but to replace the entire system. The model #26464000 does work with a few of the current retro fit systems so not only do I need to buy a new system, I need to buy this model of extender. I would like to replace the old one with this model but can't even do that because I have missed my return/replace window by 5 days. False information by AMAZON created this problem.

The quality of this extension is exceptional. I would love it, IF IT FIT MY RETROFIT SHOWER!Double-check the part numbers required for your shower before you order this. If your ordered the retro-fit Euphoria, as I did, the part you need to extend the shower head is the Grohe 26 464, not this one. I thought it was too good to be true that Amazon had this used for only $4.64 instead of $82.00, but that's clearly because of all the people mislead by the claim that this fits retrofit showers and returned it, like I have.

I'll grumble about the price of this thing, but I give it 5 stars for two reasons. First, the mere fact that Grohe has this available is awesome. If you're too tall for a normal shower and don't want to remodel, this is great to have. I don't think any of the cheaper shower manufacturers have it. Second, it is seriously a high quality accessory. The fit and finish are perfect.
