This is a beautiful trashcan, but I think it is overpriced. Doesn't seem to be fingerprint resistant if that is what you are looking for. Walmart sells one a lot like it for less and I'm pretty sure it fits up against the wall, unlike this one. I was going to buy the one at Walmart but the only one they had was damaged. They might have them online, I didn't bother to look. On this one, the hinge for the lid sticks out about 2-3 inches so you cannot put it close to the wall or it will catch and the lid won't close. Also, in our situation it slides back some during constant use and catches the wall when you use the lid, tearing away the wall paint. You have to ease on the pedal, unless it is full of heavy trash, because it will tip. I don't bother and just open the lid by hand now. It is beautiful, has a good amount of space inside, and the removeable insert is great, but not worth the money they want due to the flaws in the design. If you want to spent good money, a little more, get a Simple Human. Our smaller one is great but I was trying to find something like it for less.

The media could not be loaded.  Mostly fine. Looks nice, the black stainless finish is very pretty. I like that it is tall and more narrow than other designs. Like the side pedal. Feels solid and well made.Cons: The finish shows prints more than regular stainless. There is no way to use a trash bag and keep it from showing around the lip of the can when closed. This sort of ruins the clean look. But the biggest issue is the way the lid closes. Lid is heavy. From the open position, when released, the lid drops quickly for about 6 inches before slowly closing. If you aren't fast enough to pull your hand away you will get whacked. After a week of use I have a bruised wrist. I have looked to see if it can be adjusted or if something is broken but to no avail. Now trying to decide if I can learn to live with it or must return.

Ordered a pair of these vs. the far pricier national brand of step-to-open metal containers.My use: kibble containers that doesn't look like a kibble containers.PROS:Embedded and removable plastic liner, 12 gallon, easily holds a 30lb bag of kibble.Note there are 1/2 inch "breather holes" in this liner, so if you intend to use this container as I do (dog food), you will first need to tape those holes closed.Likes: container has solid feel, stays put when using step-to-open lid, works very well; lid closes slowly and evenly by itself, conceals the embedded can liner. Liner lifts out easily for cleaning, semi-rigid and has easy to grasp lip. Exterior finish cleans easily, not prone to finger prints. Overall finish (satin brown) fits into home decor without looking obviously like a glitzy trash can.Easy to open for filling dog dishes, step off the foot peddle and the can takes care of itself without any concern that my jumbo-breed canines will try to open it on their own.CONS: none!Bonus: daughter has the high-end and trendy kibble container and loves it; she now also likes the 2 I bought for the same price (less actually) that looks and functions perfectly.

Purchased this garbage can for several reasons of which the top ones included: 1. Sturdy metal construction- the exterior of the can, including the foot pedal is all metal 2. Lid opens fully - and remains open if you want it to when changing liner and lastly, 3. Garbage liner is inside an interior bin. This was my main reason for purchasing this product. It is so easy to clean out the inside should you have a need to. There is a full "bin" inside that lifts out. The garbage bag fits nice and snug over the 4 corners and I have never had a bag slip off in the 2 months I have had it. Very pleased with this and have purchased my last kitchen garbage can!
