This 3 blade fan has easy to assemble instructions so I did it myself and installed myself. I own 3 of them, all in different colors and they powerfully move air even on the lowest setting. They are stylish, the fan blades push lots of air, and the light can be dimmed from very bright to very low. More expensive that you might want to pay for a ceiling fan with light, but they are super QUIET and I have not had any problems after owning my first approximately 3 years ago. The coa wood is amazing looking, the white matches most ceilings, and the silver adds a beautiful contract against a light or white ceiling. When you come to hang it, probably shorten the wires as the full length of the wire allows for flexibility, but stuffing all of that wire into cover can be tricky. They should answer all of your related questions. **Q: What size rod does it come with? Does this price include the wall controls** A: I received mine with the wall control as well as the remote. According to the description this one will come with both. The remote comes with a holster that can be screwed on the wall anywhere convenient to the user. The wall control will replace your light switch controlling that fixture a small LED light will indicate if the remote is disabled or not which you control with a small button on the wall control. The down tube was 8" (If I remember right). It does not come with multiple down rods but you can order same spec longer rods from other users. I get many compliments on the design of this ceiling fan. **Q: Can you use both wall switch and remote?** A: The wall switch must always be on for the fan to work regardless of whether you are just by turning the fan on or off by the switch or you are using the remote. The LED light unit gives plenty of light and the dimmer has full range. LED lights have come a long way with the dimmer capabilities. Unit is very quiet.
