Made the Job Easier.
I used this device to grout a vertical wall between thin brick veneers "Brick Web". The bags that are supplied are the perfect size and are able to be filled outside the tube. I cannibalized a long tube oil funnel and only used the top portion. It filled the bags perfectly. I was able to mix the grout without trial and error. As long as the grout can be stirred in the bucket with a trowel, it will work in the gun. So the consistency does not have to be perfect. The gun worked flawlessly. Only glitch. There is a fender washer that is provided because the face of the plunger is too large to fit in the Groutenator. This washer had an incorrect hole size. I had some larger fender washers in the garage and these worked well. Reaming out the hole in the supplied washer would have worked as well. After washing the gun down with water several times, the action became "sticky" This was easily remedied with some 3 in 1 oil. You will need to buy extra bags, surprising how many bags you will use. Overall, made the job manageable. I received the Gun, The Groutenator, and the extra bags all in separate shipments. So don't panic if you only receive part of the order (Like I did)

do not spend your money
I would not buy this product. the grout had to be too thin to work through the gun. If it was a good consistency, it was too thick for the gun. Very big disappointment

Never worked good for me
Never worked good for me. I had to water down the grout so much for it to come out that it was way too runny. I gave it to my neighbor.

Great Product
Sundog, a great company to work with. They went above and beyond to see to it we got the product we ordered including all the necessary parts even faster than the arrival date on our order confirmation-even included a couple extras. We've been in the process of tiling a large area with porcelain floor tile which has represented quite a challenge. The groutenator, once we practiced (especially seeing to it that no lumps were in the grout mixture to clog the works) has been of great value. It sped up the process of grouting with less waste. It's definitely a good product and worth the time it takes to practice the best way to use it for the job at hand. Having a choice of tips along with getting the right consistency of the grout greatly aided us in filling the 1/8 inch grout lines. We recommend the product and Sundog!

Waste of money
Waste of money, hard to fill bags/limited grout per bag/ difficult to seal. An exceedingly slow process overall. The usual, time-tested, grouting technique is so much faster and simpler.

What I needed
Ok, it is messy but once you get the hang of it this does just what I wanted to do. First you need to get the thickness just right or it runs out of the joint. I was doing a travertine backsplash that I didn’t want to get grout in all the textures of the tile. Just the joints. The first time I filled the bag I got grout in the Ziploc area. Needless to say the Ziploc would not close. I folded it over and used a stapler to close the opening. This seem to work great throughout the whole project. In between Filling it’s a good idea to keep the gun clean. Leftover grout can harden and make the gun clog. If the grout joints are bigger and you’re doing a floor it would be much easier to use.
