I come at this from a unique perspective in that I spoke with Matthew a number of times during his tenure as US Ambassador to the UK. This book is a fantastic read, offering Matthew's unique view on leadership, life and everything in between. His mindset shared within this book is something I try to apply to my everyday life, and would recommend others try it - so give it a read!

Loved it! It's one of those books I had a hard time putting aside.The message of shifting from pyramide mindset to constellation mindset is so inspiring. It's been very helpful with recognizing where I have work to do.I look forward to reading it again.

With bookshelves filled with management tips and tricks, it is refreshing to find a departure from "how to manage others" to see a world that does not require management but rather better humanity. The book blends personal stories with just the right amount of "instruction." My first reaction after reading was to rethink some civic organizations that I am involved with and wonder if this more abundant mindset can be applied. So that is my summer project fully inspired by Mr. Barzun's words.

OK Matthew, I'm convinced. I have known you as a good listener, but you can also tell a good story. You give us a thread of one idea to follow through 200+ years of history and help us to see the fabric of empowering leadership. Well done. Respect.
