Great to add texture to plastered ceilings and walls.
I purchased this to add ceiling texture to a patch that had to be done. This did a great job, and the texture using this roller, is a great match to my original textured ceiling. Once painted it a nearly perfect match. I was easy to use and a breeze to clean. This saved me so much money, being able to do it myself.

Research how to use before purchasing
Research how to use it before you purchase. There is a lot of work behind using this roller. I was not aware of that and will not be using this for my project. I'm sure it works great, but if you are not skilled at the application, things can go wrong. I was not willing to devote the amount of time it requires to the process. I also was not sure it would look as it was supposed to, as I am not skilled in the process. I was not sure of how to rate this item as I didn't use it, but felt that the one star review would at least draw views and help people be aware.

Not worth your trouble
Only works on thin coats of texture paint, otherwise it's just a sticky mess. Also seems best used for walls or floors - ceiling was a no-go, which was what I needed it for (and likely what you'd need it for, too)

I got a pretty decent texture from this...
But I have a few gripes.First of all, this company sells a ton of rollers, but not the roller they use to apply the plaster in the video. Come on, guys. I couldn't find that roller anywhere on Amazon. If you want to sell more rollers, sell that roller. Maybe even sell them as a two pack.Secondly, I guess you have to use the "Thick Slurry Elastomeric Coating" instead of regular drywall mud. Using standard mud, it was impossible to get the same results as the video. I'd really like an item that can use standard drywall mud. That being said, I did get a decent finish. What I did was apply drywall mud/all purpose plaster in a thin coat smoothly to the wall. I hit it with the roller, and it looked like hot garbage. Then, I lightly pulled a wide knife across the garbage finish to get a nice textured pattern. It looked nothing like the roller I bought (EG323T) , but it did look a lot like the original finish in the old lathe and plaster in this 100 year old house.4 stars.
