I have used Track Magic on loco wheels and track. It works very well.

Track Magic is a very effective way of cleaning your model railway track. After using a track rubber, apply Track Magic using the special applicator supplied in the initial kit. There is also a tool that gets the Track Magic in to those hard to reach areas such as the track joiners where dirt and corrosion can be a real problem. Don't stop with just the track. Track Magic can be effectively used when servicing and cleaning your locomotives ensuring they run sweetly. Make sure you use the product in a well ventilated setting as it is potent stuff and obviously keep away from children. Why did I not give this five stars? It is a bit on the expensive side in my opinion.

A fantastic track cleaner .I have an old Hornby series 4 layout with steel rails. always corroding and rusting. not any more ...track magic leaves a conductive residue which aids smooth running and has stopped corrosion completely,
