Orient Classic RA-AK0008S10B Automatic Mens Watch

I've had a few Orient watches over the years, all dive style and I've been impressed with the general quality and value for money. However now that I've reached my 70th birthday I thought perhaps something other than a diver or sports type watch would be more befitting on my ancient wrist. So I spotted the Orient Sun and moon. I still hesitated, in all my years I've never had a watch with roman numerals! Anyway, watch delivered a few weeks ago and I haven't taken it off my wrist since. A really impressive and interesting dial, looks much more expensive than it cost, a classy piece, I love it! Having said that it is a fairly big watch and suits my 7.5 inch wrist.. The strap is 'interesting', really suits the look, although I think I might swap it out eventually. So, it looks like most of my other sport/dive watches will soon find themselves for sale, I now have my new style! 😎 BTW, this watch is running at +3 seconds per day, excellent timekeeping for a mechanical piece. S

Great value for money, nice movement and stunning looking watch. The strap is initially quite stiff but after a few days it breaks in. Very happy with this.

I already have an Orient automatic day/date watch for work, this one is for leisure wear, the face has deeply visual black Roman numerals and correspondingly black hands including the seconds. the date indicator is plain with a wide window, the day dial is reasonably easy to read, the sun/moon dial is a nice touch, this allows setting the time from the watches 'midnight' position with less fuss. the day and date indicator is set with position two on the crown winder, clockwise for the day and anti for the date. when setting the time against any master clock on it's full out position, this one is wound in the traditional manor, it is also hackable, with the winder full out the second hand stops, at midday, to allow for complete accuracy. this particular watch gains about 7 seconds a day, but since as aforementioned it can be reset with ease. the clasp is a snap fit with loops for the leather band, it took a bit of practice to get this on and off, but when I finally got it adjusted it doesn't roll round my wrist like others I could mention. altogether a heavier watch on whole but feels robust, at 22 jewels it runs really quiet, it does draw nice comments from people that spy it, in conclusion, I am happy with this one and anyone contemplating an automatic of this nature can't go go too wrong.

The watch is quite simply the best value out there with incredible quality. I bought this as present and was bowled over by this watch. I can speak with some authority having some pretty expensive watches myself. I would not hesitate recommending the Orient 'saphire sandwich' meaning that it has incredibly hard watch glass (virtually impossible to scratch) and the same on the back so you can the mechanism ticking away. There was a hiccup as on the delivery as Customs wanted some money but Chrono12 sorted it out immediately (honestly 5mins to respond) and an hour or two to refund the import tax. Really was 5* service. Thanks again

Really beautiful watch , only minus is the leather strap what feels quite stiff at least in the beginning.

I’ve just started getting into mechanical watches and this one is a gem. It’s absolutely beautiful and would work in both dressed up or casual occasion. The watch does have some weight to it but it felt great quality. Might be a tad bit big for my wrist which is 16cm or 6.29 inches but never the less I love it too much. I absolutely love the movement and the details in the watch. The straps is extremely stiff and does take getting used to as first. It’s an incredible watch I think it’s great value for the quality you’re getting. Recommended Hope you found my review useful.

The watch is almost perfect except a few minor things such as: thickness , no anti reflective coating and the fact that it’s made in Thailand nowadays . Theirs is no Movement Japan statement anymore either. Other than that it’s awesome.

I’m having a wonderful time with my white dial Orient Sun and Moon v3 so far! What I like about it: - It’s very realible and accurate with one to two seconds per day! - The dial is quite stunning and mesmerizing! I really love the attention to detail and the different levels of texture that they incorporate! -I love the roter of the movement and how it is slightly decorated and is quiet when in motion -The signed crown and beautiful logo of Orient on the dial is a nice touch What could still be improved: -I would love to see a higher level of attention to detail with the movement and case finishing -Although this dial is quite spectacular at first glance, I was able to see in good lighting some minor QC issues with small lines almost like scratches/finger print or marks that are not supposed to be there, but I can barely see them but I wish they weren’t there since it is hard to remove them and take away from the Beauty of this timepiece - the case thickness and the diameter of the watch is quite chunky and large. I would love to see a diameter of 40mm instead of 42.5mm and a thickness of 10mm instead of 12.5mm. -Moreover the strap of this watch was on backwards when I received it which is an odd thing I notice with many Japanese watches and the strap quality is quite stiff and cheap. Overall, despite all the minor negatives, I think this is a good watch for its price point. Thank you Orient and Amazon for your service!
