**Q: Will this hold a retevis rt73 ham radio?**
A: Retevis 73 is about the same size and weight of the GMRS radio I have mounted.  As long as the bracket mount can bolt to the square plate you should be fine. My radio hangs under so I bent the mount towards the drivers seat so I can see the radio controls and after being there for a year it still is solid
