Great pressing of a classic
When this record came out I had been a longtime REM fan. I loved all their records but this one was a letdown. Of course, I had just gotten to college the fall begore this came out and had discovered jazz. So I was fully immersed in that and also was hoping for a more political record more like Life's Rich Pageant or Green. However, I now love this record and it has some of my favorite REM songs like Country Feedback and Near Wild Heaven. This is a fantastic pressing as well.

Great REM. Classic album.
Classic album. Harmonies between Mills and Stipe are some of their best work. It is an amazing road trip album, where you are taken on an authentic journey of highs and lows. If I had one criticism, REM should have left “Shiny Happy People” off the album and saved it to put on a romantic comedy film Soundtrack.

One of the great records by one of the great college rock bands.
Back when alternative music was an actual alternative to something, there was REM. The greatest American college rock band. To me, this is the last of the triumvirate of peak REM records: Life's Rich Pageant, Green and Out of Time. Yes, REM had good records after this one, but this is a complete album, back when running order and song selection and making every song count mattered.
